The distance between Earth and moon had increased over a period of time, indicating decrease in gravitational forces between heavenly bodies...

Keplers Laws can be used to calculate the elleptical orbits but thats only calcualting, not the reason.

Gravitational Force is the only significant force acting on a Planetary object orbiting another body (example Earth - Sun). This Force is calculated using F = G*M1*M2/(r*r) where G is the gravitational constant, M1 and M2 the respective masses of the two bodies and r is the distance between them.

This force F would be acting from center of mass of one body to the center of mass of the the other body, which would be a straight line and thus this Gravitational Force along with the Centrifugal Force (acting perpendicular to the Gravitational Force) should result in a circular orbit (one center).

But this is not the case, all planetary orbits are Elleptical (two centers). Also in a elleptical orbit the distance between the two bodies keeps changing, shouldn't this cause a variance in the Gravitational Force? And therefore this should make the orbit unstable?

Since that would mean that the diameter must be 27.4 Billion light years in diameter, should we not be able to see objects farther than 13.7 light years away (unless we are in the very center, which from mathematical probabilty is VERY unlikely). So, what is the proper explanation for the absence of the record of longer distances being observed?

Two years ago I looked up at the night sky and noticed that each star appears to have a double, it could just be a optical illusion, but then again it could be for other reasons, do you have a theory?

Sedna has cleared out it's own orbital path and is spherical in shape. With all this news about Pluto no longer being a planet, why is Sedna not considered a planet?

I ask this question after seeing the shuttle being moved back and forth from the launchpad due to Hurricane Ernesto. That must have cost millions in gas just to make that approx. two mile (or whatever it is) trip to the hangar. Why not have the launch and landing sites in a more stable weather environment? Is there some benefit to having the space centers close to the oceans? Are the space centers evolving around where the scientists and engineers like to live?

I even have a very powerful telescope. I cannot see the footprints from the astronauts, the American flag that was left, nor any debris.. In all pics from the hubble none of the above can be observed. We did land on the LIGHT side of the moon. We can see rocks on mars- how many millions of miles away???? The moon is only 250,000 miles away.... Why. No evidence exists we actually were there? I guess the man in the moon hid all of the evidence we were ever on the moon. Perhaps he put it in the storage room at MGM studios.

Would you won der how it would turn out, would it be the same life you're living now or would it be dfferent? Its been said there's a planet "out there" or "up there" that has an exact duplicate of us. It the [ositive side of us while we are the negative side. What do you in your present self think of this?

The Red Planet is about to be spectacular!

This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that
will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in
recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is
in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on
Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be
certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth
in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as
60,000 years before it happens again.

The encounter will culminate on August 27th when
Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and
will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in
the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9
and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest
75-power magnification.

If you already knew, did you get to see it????????? I just think it is amazing news! If it was for real. Pls. tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

READ
i think everyone been biased against pluto,
everybody say pluto's the 'bad' one, crossing into Neptune's orbit, thus making itself a dwarf
well from another point of view, we could also said Neptune's the one to be accused because it crossed over Pluto's orbit.
thus it only would make sense that Neptune be demoted because it hasnt 'clear the neighborhood' aorund it

what i'm trying to say? the new definition is pathetic, laughable and just purely stupid with the 'clear the neighborhood' clause
