It is an Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU), and it is worn to protect the astronaut from vacuum, micrometeoriods, and the extreme temperatures in space. It is really a tiny spacecraft for one person.
By the way it has a drink bag in it, which is pretty cool. I'd want one too if I were in it for over 8 hours!!!

An astrosuit with an astrotie, an astrocumberbund and an astrodickie. Unless they are Russian, then its a cosmosuit with a cosmotie, a cosmocumberbund and a cosmodickie. But you know, putting those things on are really a pain in the astro.
