I really need help doing different functions with logs. I just read these 2 questions and I actually dont even know where to start so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The first one is

Solve
log*small 2* (2x + 1) - log*small 2* (x) = 2

And the other is
Given that log*small 5* (x) = a and
log*small 5* (y) = b
Find in terms a and b,

Log*small 5* (x*squared* divided by y)
and
Log (25x*square root y*)

All the x's are letters and not multiply signs by the way

I'm really stuck!

The following ions are included. a / in between two things represents that the one symbol is over the other next to the element(s). It supposed to be a puzzle, but I cant get it. You haveget formulas of compounds using all the ions. Each compound is made up of one cation and one kind of anion. You must use all of them.

What if whoever makes them... (how are they made anyway) makes a slight error and we either lose time or gain time gradually, (Wow, what a thought), How is the time on Atomic Clocks calibrated, I mean my alarm clock (windup one) has a little lever to make the winding go faster or slower........... But how and who sets them when they are first placed into service?

I basically need to have a clear understanding of three things: what is a cycle index, an orbit pertaining to three dimensional objects such as tetrahedra or cubes.

How can I determine the cycle index and orbit pertaining to any polyhedra,

How can I determine the number of symmetries of a three dimesional object. It's not as easy as it looks, as I have been told that an equilateral triangle (two dimensional) has six symmetries, and I don't know why.

requires a 81 N horizontal force to set it in motion. However, after the crate is in motion, a horizontal force of 51 N is required to keep it moving with a constant speed. Find the coefficients of static and kinetic friction between crate and floor.

Lets see how fast you can do this one guys ;)
