All rivers eventually empty into the sea. They carry sediment and salts and whatever they can pick up and it all gets dumped into the sea. After all the time that rivers have been doing this the sea has become salty.

Salt from the land gets washed through rain into the sea, but when sea water evaporates, it leaves the salt in the remaining water making it progressively saltier. It's a one-way road for salt!
