1. (i) A satelite relies on solar cells for its power and will operate provided that at least on of the cells is working. Cell fail independently of each other and the probability that an individual cell fails within one year is 0.8.
a) For a satelite with ten solar cells, find the prob. that all ten cell fail within one year.
b)For a satelite with ten solar cells, find the prob. that the satelite is still operating at the end of one year.
c) for a staelite with n solar cells, write down the prob. that the satelite is still operating at the end of one year. Hence find the smallest number of solar cells required so that the prob. os the satelite at the end of one yea is at least 0.95.

Ok I understand most things about Big Bang but... here are some ruff questions about it.

1. What type of phenomenon is a singularity?
2. How is it possible that so much energy could be contained in such a small source of matter?
3. Newton's First Law of motion indicates that a object at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon by an outside force. If there was only that singularity in the entire universe, what caused the catastrophic reaction that resulted in well... us?
