What is an example of a Mechanical engineering job? What do they do? I am wondering whether I should study this in college. I look at the courses I would be taking and they seem kind of dull. But I know that in the real world, you usually don't do they stuff they teach in college directly. So, someone that knows or is a mechanical engineer, what would I be doing on the job?

Mr. Sharp is finished dinner with his wife, his son, and his daughter.

It was his daughter's birthday, and his wife had made her a birthday cake that was 28 by 28 centimeters long, and 5 centimeters high. Icing covered the top and four sides.

Mr. Sharp: I'll cut the first piece for my daughter, and since she has turned 7 today, i'll start each cut 7 cintimeters from a corner and cut to the center.

Daughter: you didn't give me enough! that's not one quarter of the cake! and even if it were, i didn't get enough icing!

Son: you're too greedy! i think dad gave you too MUCH, you should give some back!

Mr. Sharp: well you're BOTH wrong. the piece is exactly one-fourth the volume of the cake and it also has exactly one fourth of icing on it.

who's right, and why??

Any information would be great; I appreciate you trying to help me. Ursa Minor aka the Lesser Bear is a constellation of the northern sky.

Please do not think this is the Little Dipper, because that is an asterism, a distinctive group of stars. Also, please list your sources so I can insert them in the bibliography. It's not that I can't find any info, I was just wondering if there was any more I missed because I only have one page of notes and I have to give a 5 min. presentation. Again, any information would be helpful. Thanx ahead of time!

To clarify: Take me as the example. If another specific spermatozoa from my father had fertilised my mothers egg, or if one of my mothers egg from a different month had been fertilised, then would it still have been me that was created, or would it have been a different individual, albeit one genetically identical (or very close to identical) to me?

When I try and think this through I just cannot get my head around it! Please, no sid james 'carry on' ohh err missus' type of answers. I mean this as a serious biological/existential question!
