I asked a question like this a few days ago, and got nothing resembling consensus for an answer:

Imagine a frictionless world, that just happens to have a safe plummeting to the ground. The safe has a flat bottom which is perpendicular to the direction it is falling. Does the air impart a force on the safe opposite the direction of it's fall? What is that force called? Is it "air resistance"? If it is, is there a difference between air resistance and air friction, and what is it?

Thanks!

i have to measure lengths of paper when transferring from a 4 inch diameter roll to a 2 inch, typically in 4,5,8.and 10meter lengths.i use an approximate method based on the number of turns it takes to roll off 1 metre. and multiplying it by the number of metres i need. obviously, however, the diameter of the smaller roll increases the more paper is rolled on.making this method increasingly more inaccurate the more paper required.does anyone know of a wheel measuring device that would be in contact with the paper on the larger roll, giving a more accurate read out?

Which of the elements below has no valence electrons?
a) Ar+ b) Ga+ c) Mg+2 d) S-2 e) F-

I don't know what it means by "no" valence electrons. Does that mean it has eight, but since it's filled it essentially means 0? Even though, I end up with Mg+2, S-2, and F- as the ones that have 8 valence electrons. But the question didn't say atoms or ions, it said elements. So would I forget about the charges and choose the "element"? What what be the correct choice?

I mean we have so many skyscrpaers all across the world in places like newyork, tokyo and Dubai. Just imagine how dangerous those tall structures could be in the event of a Bombing or fire. It's like being in a forest having to say Timber!!!
