First add 4/5 + 3/10 which equals 11/10 because find a common demonator which is 10.
So:
11/10=x+1/2 Subtract 1/2 to x by itself so:
3/5=x ( again by the common denominator)

x=3/5

Good Luck. : )

4/5 + (3/10) = x +1/2 subtract 1/2 from each side
x=4/5+3/10-1/2 convert all fractions to LCD
x=8/10+3/10-5/10=6/10=3/5

Come on now, what's the problem? Convert all the fractions to tenths and then you should be able to do it in your head.

(A hint/check on the result you should get: x will be TWICE one of the fractions already in the problem.)

Live long and prosper.
