First I noticed that the vast majority of UFO sightings etc.. are from 1945 and on. This is my theory: The US government went way out of it's way to look guilty, to look like they were hiding something. Now you ask why...well something else happened in 1945...the beginning of the cold war with USSR. I believe the entire UFO craze was invented by the Federal government to place the idea in the heads of the Russians that we just might have an alien technology. It was brillant. The New Mexico crash was brillant if you think about it. Hell, area 51, the hanger in Wright Patterson and so forth
