My father has made it a hobby locating and collecting arrowheads, and has a nice collection. His theory is "Arrowheads can be found anywhere". As a Rock Hound myself. its not where you look its how you do the research before you venture into the unknown. Knowing if Indian lived there once and still do. Ask people living in the area, Often they can just be found lying in tilled fields ready for crops. Ask the local farms for a pass onto their land, Thou at times you may need a permit from the local chamber of commerce. Good luck and hope you find what your looking for.

I'd say around rivers. Don't think there were many targets for arrows out in the desert.
