Find the interval of convergence of the series:
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-10/1221148/11.8.6.JPG

I started by using the ratio test, but reached a dead end:
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-10/1221148/11.8.6.2.JPG

I know after the ratio test I must find the limit, and then evaluate endpoints for convergence/divergence. But I am stuck with how to find the limit as n --> ∞ of |x| lim (1/n+1)(n+n+1)^n.
Do I have to use L'Hopital's Rule since I get (∞/∞)^∞? Or does the limit = 0 because of 1/n+1? Or is it neither? I am totally confused and lost o_O.

We have an exam Friday, and having good work on HW problems will help for studying.

Thank you for your time and help! =)

A 700-N man stands on a scale on the floor of an elevator. The scale records the force it exerts on whatever is on it. What is the scale reading if the elevator has an acceleration of (a) 1.8 m/s^2 up? (b) 1.8 m/s^2 down? (c) 9.8 m/s^2 down?

Please answer all three senarios. Be detailed as possible. Thank you.

An elevator starts from rest with a constant upward acceleration. It moves 2.0 meters in the first .60 seconds (that's a decimal in front of the 6, in case it's difficult to see). A passenger in the elevator is holding a 3.0-kg package by a vertical string. What is the tension in the string during the accelerating process?

I'm in a basic high school physics class, and i'm having some dificulty. Can you help? Be as detailed as possible please.

You are to enclose 3 sides of a rectangular area of 512 square feet with fencing. If fencing costs are $2.00 per foot, what are the dimensions of the rectangle that will minimize the total cost of fencing and still enclose the required area? What is that minimum cost?

Please show all work, and if possible, describe each step. The more description, the better. Thanks.

Common (con)sense dictates that the so called weed growing in my small amateurish and beloved garden is to be ripped out of the earth by the very roots if possible. However, I liked it when I first saw it, so plain and dull looking it was, and I let it grow. It is enormous now, and I plan to keep letting it live its life for the time being.

All of these decisions an unexpected modification of usual plans -not long ago I'd've killed it good- got me wondering: why, and more importantly how, do we decide which plants are good and which are bad -just a weed-, as I used to think while I was killing them. Is there an actual technical reason I would not know about?

ten years agomy friend and I were sitting in my car with the sun roof open. It was dusk and we were at a pretty busy part of Salt Lake city just sitting in the parking lot when we both got freaked out because.. suddenly out of nowhere there was this massive black triangle hanging in the sky. we both sort of half stood up to look at it it thru the sun roof. It was jet black, made no noise. it was a perfect triangle and it had a round light on each corner. I will never forget my complete dismay. It hung in the sky for about half a minute and then it just disappeared. My friend and I were FREAKING OUT and I even cried because I felt fear..? Has anyone else ever seen this???
