1. Suppose a driver springs into the air with no initial angular velocity. can the driver begin to rotate by folding into a tucked position?

2. Suppose a torque rotates your body about one of three different axes of rotation: case A, an axis through your spine; case B, an axis through your hips; case C, an axis through your ankles. Rank these three axes of rotation in increasing order of the angular acceleration produced by the torque.

3. A fish takes a bate and pulls on the line with a force of 2.1 N. The fishing reel, which rotates without friction, is a cylinder of radius 0.055 m and mass 0.84 kg. (a) What is the angular acceleration of the fishing reel? (b) How much line does the fish pull from the reel in 0.25 s?

Jungle Jim sees a signal on the top of an escarpment (a tall cliff) at an angle of elevation of 10 degrees. Later, after moving 1000 meters, the angle of elevation is 32.5 degrees. How tall is the escarpment?
I've tried to figure the question out a few ways with no luck. What would be the equation I would use with my scientific calculator??? This is the last question I have to do and have successfully done the rest on my own. Can anyone help?

According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Chad ):

"Lake Chad is believed to be a remnant of a former inland sea which has grown and shrunk with changes in climate over the past 13,000 years....Climate change, due in part to global warming, and increased demands on the lake's water have accelerated its shrinkage over the past 40 years....It seems likely that the lake will shrink further and perhaps even disappear altogether in the course of the 21st century....The lake nearly dried out in 1908 and again in 1984 and has an average depth of only 1.5 metres."

If Lake Chad has shrunk repeatedly in the past, then why is it now so worrisome? Is its current shrinking part of a normal cycle for the lake, or is global warming (or human usage or something else) making this worse than the past shrinkages? Is this shrinking permanent?

Lake Chad is often used as a prime example of global warming, but I don't understand how the current shrinkage is different than in the past.

I am looking for quality people in Houston, TX to build a centrifugal fan using airfoil blades which moves air out radially (in all directions) on an electric engine with minimal weight (of the machine assembly).
I am also interested in instructions on how to construct a quality product myself without expensive tools (even with toothpicks and straws, tape and glue, if it accomplishes the mission).
