A man swims at 1m/s. He is trying to swim across 50m wide river with the length of his body perpendicular to the shore. River current is 2m/s.How long does it take him to cross the river and what's his speed relative to the shore?

I think that his speed is 3m/s and that it takes 50/3 seconds but I'm not sure because he has to swim perpendicular to the shore.

Thank you for any help!

I have heard that many firms around the world are engaging people for getting their old hand-drawn engineering drawings converted to AutoCAD files. I am a Mechanical Engineer by profession , am good at engineering design and drawing and am very much interested to do engneering design and drawing works at home by utilizing my spare time. So far I could not locate any firms hiring people for this type of work. How can I locate such firms?

So far we can only get as far as the moon or to a space station. That's pretty damn boring. What materials/resources/energy sources would we need to build one that could go to mars, or beyond? I already know NASA is about done building a new one called Orion, but that will only go as far as the moon as well. Which is something we already did years ago. Maybe we will never get past the moon. Maybe we dont have the resources or intellect?
