I think my language setting on my calculator is screwed up...it came up with syntax error, and underneath it said, 'afsleuiten, gar naaa' or something like that. How do I change the language to english.

???
That's not possible... the TI 84 SE itself is always in English, you can download programs in other languages, but it's always, ALWAYS in English...
Are you in German app or something like the CellSheetDeutsch??
If not, you could try resetting your memory through 2ND+MEM -> 7.Reset -> ALL -> 1.All Memory , but if that doesn't work, redownload the operating system at http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/productDetail/us_ti84pse.html?bid=8 .

Hope I've helped! =)

I don't have my TI-84, but I do have my TI-83 with me. After looking around the calculator, I would say just reset the memory for everything. That should solve your language problem. And if that doesn't work hit the TI website and see what they recommend.

Hope this works.

I'm not sure that there are other languages on the calculator. If there are, you might be able to fix it by resetting the calculator.

Be aware that if you choose to reset RAM, all data programs in RAM will be erased.

To reset, type [2nd] [MEM], select "Reset" off of the given menu; then select either "All Ram" or "Defaults"

Selecting "Defaults" is probably safer. Good luck.
