There are plenty of good ideas for alternative fuel sources, some of which we've known about for decades. Why haven't any of them gotten off the ground yet? (especially for cars) And what are we going to have to do to make it happen?

Would not(considering the size of the big bang) sound which travels at a much lower speed than light, but much more distructive if it reached the solo system in huge space time waves? Isn't it true There is nothing out there to stop sound as we already know from listening?
Would not every thing that has already passed the planet someday return if the universe is a circular or eliptical enity?

If I were to hold a baseball ten feet from the ground then release it. Is the baseball being pulled in toward the Earth or pushed toward the Earth? I expect everyone will tell me it's being pulled in. If this is the case, how certain are we of this and what evidence supports it?
