My husband wants to name our son after himself. At the beginning of my pregnancy, I agreed. But I have had second thoughts, and I no longer want to name our son after my husband. I told him that it would confuse people, including myself. When I suggested that we have his name as our sons middle name, he ignored me. Now he's refusing to have anything to do with picking out names. He claims ALL names are ugly except his own. I told him that he's being really childish, and I would really like him to consider other names too. But he just glares at me and refuses to say or do anything.

Should I just go ahead and pick my own names and name our son myself, even if he doesn't like it? Is there any other way I can try to get him involved with picking a name other than his own? Naming after our fathers is not an option, I have suggested this and it was turned down too.

I don't get the trend of adding random letters to names. I recently saw Jacob spelled Jaykub. It's still the name Jacob, but now the kid will get made fun of.
Why not just give your child a unique name instead of weirdly spelled common name?

Another one of my friends that live out of town is pregnant. I am so upset because it is not me yet.

She don't know what she is having, she wants it to be a surprise. She is due in a few weeks.

Anyways, she said she is naming her child:

Girl:

Elisiana Marie Lynn
or
Zarina Chantal Marie

Boy:

Alexander Diesel Stone
or
Christian Denim Lee

Pick one girl and one boy name that you like the best.

Please do not add your own opinions because they are not open to new ideas.

If you hate them all, tell me least to most hated. :) Thanks!

Also, do you have middle name suggestion, for any or all?

Marie is out. I was thinking Sue? After my grandma who is battling lymphoma. Do you think that's ok?
