I pronounce my name "Mar-sha". I just got off the phone w/ a receptionist who tried to convince me that my name is really Mar-see-uh. I was so annoyed.

I think that the most common usage is to pronounce it "mar-sha".

However, I did have a former co-worker who went by the "mar-see-a" pronunciation. She's the only person I've personally known who used that pronounciation though.

I suppose ultimately it depends upon the personal preference of the person with that name. :)

I have this problem all the time, obviously not with me pronouncing my name but others. It really depends on the person, Mostly in America it's pronounced Mar-sha, But over here it's typically pronounced Mar-ci-a. A lot of people who phone up will pronounce it Mar-sha, ive just given up correcting them now

It's pronounced like Marsha. (Although, maybe in Spanish speaking countries they would pronounce it Mar-SEE-uh.)

My best friend is Marcia, and my daughter and I sometimes call her "Mar-SEE-uh" -- like a term of endearment. Kinda dumb. LOL

When I read it, I pronounced it "Mar-see-uh". Like with Lucia, I pronounce it "Loo-see-uh".
