Quinn - BOY The mighty Quinn, anyone? LOL

Kyler - BOY This is generally considered masculine in both it's Dutch and Celtic forms.

Kyan - BOY Generally used as a misspelled Anglicization of the masculine Irish Cian. Similar feminine forms would be Ciana or Kyla ... but NOT Kyan. :)

Rowan - EITHER Rowan is classically unisex. As a male name it is used as an Anglicized form of Ruadhan. As a female name, it's in reference to the rowan tree (so a nature name).

Ellery - EITHER On paper, this would certainly indicate boy, but there is a similar Welsh name, spelled Eleri, that is strictly female. So spelling comes into play here. :)

Avery - BOY A generation ago, this might have been interesting on a girl, but I fail to see how a traditionally masculine form of Alfred meaning "elf counsel" could suddenly be seen as so "pretty" as to warrant collective trendy crossover usage. ;) I'd avoid it for a girl, and would certainly assume it masculine.

As to Kaia, it's become so commonly trendy -- not limited to any certain culture or ethnicity -- that it no longer brings to mind any certain mental image. Just as Maia, Jaia, Gaia, Naia, Maya, Naya, Jaya,Gaya, Mia, Gia, Nia, Pia, Tia, etc. don't particularly bring to mind blond curls or jet-black waves, Kaia simply seems a currently trendy "sound" that will blend in with all the rest, but not have any certain assumed appearance or demeanor.

Hope that helps.

Edited to add: Per an above comment, Kaia is actually an Old Norse name meaning simply "hen," and is also used as a Scandinavian pet form of Katarina.

all the male names i could see as female names, even tho i immediately associated them with males, but Avery is definately a girls' name and wouldn't work very well for a boy
