Yet our distress comes from no failure of substance. We are stricken by no plague of locusts. Compared with the perils which our forefathers conquered because they believed and were not afraid, we have still much to be thankful for. Nature still offers her bounty and human efforts have multiplied it. Plenty is at our doorstep, but a generous use of it languishes in the very sight of the supply. Primarily this is because the rulers of the exchange of mankind's goods have failed, through their own stubbornness and their own incompetence, have admitted their failure, and abdicated. Practices of the unscrupulous money changers stand indicted in the court of public opinion, rejected by the hearts and minds of men. 4
True they have tried, but their efforts have been cast in the pattern of an outworn tradition. Faced by failure of credit they have proposed only the lending of more money. Stripped of the lure of profit by which to induce our people to follow their false leadership, they have resorted to exhortations, pleading tearfully for restored confidence. They know only the rules of a generation of self-seekers. They have no vision, and when there is no vision the people perish.

Conservatives think it's some kind of scandal that Oprah might be endorsing Obama because he's black. I think it would be a scandal if she DIDN'T endorse Obama because he's black.

He's the first one of African-Americans to have a real shot at the Presidency of the country that brought them over here as slaves and mistreated and discriminated against them ever since. That would be a pretty major accomplishment.

George W. Bus, George H. W. Bush, Ronald Reagon, and Gerald Ford have not won the Nobel Prize like Vice President Gore and President Jimmy Carter. Why don't Republicans try to help the United States and the world?

I'm confused. On one hand, I went Christmas shopping this weekend instead of going to see The Golden Compass. That makes me a Great American in the eyes of some.

On the other hand, I think our President is a lying war criminal who has sold out our country to global corporations.

So where do I fit in Bill O'Reilly's analysis?

So Al got his Nobel Prize.. what are your opinions about him and the other 10000 or so people flying into Bali, well most are already there for the UN Climate Change Conference.

Al has been circulating an email that he is on his way and wants people to sign his petition of support.

So..... they couldnt just have a video or teleconference???
10000 plus people had to jet on down to Bali for this?
Talk about a huge carbon footprint... hrm...

Is there a link between doing a lousy job politically and getting a Nobel?
