Yeah... NOT.
It's one of the reasons Japan didn't attack the American mainland in WWII. Hirohito, when posed with the question about possibly invading the US, said "It is not possible - there is a gun under every blade of grass." Or something like that.

The law abiding gun owners would. Well, not happily, but they would give them up. The problem is the criminals who procured weapons illegally. We would have no way of tracking how many that is, and they certainly wouldn't turn them in.

I don't think so!
This is another problem I see with having to have (all) of them registered, and for the morons that don't like guns, don't get one. If someone broke into your house, you'd want one. If your neighbor ran to your rescue with a gun, you'd be what...mad?
We are not talking about gang bangers, we are talking about mature citizens that follow the rules and are by law legally responsible for our actions....some people need to turn off the TV and get with life! It is not what you see on the TV....that word...responcibility...is not in to play there, it is here in the REAL WORLD.

If they were to ban guns, it would'nt be a cruel world for the humans as well as animals. But think about it this way, if life is better for the animals, population of the animals would get larger, and it would be much harder to hunt. Which would make our marketing (in meat) decrease. So, the answers may varry, depending on your way of living or your beliefs. Not to mention, how would we fight in wars?

Definately No!...I think you have a 2nd?or maybe 5th.ammendment or something?...in the states...that gives you the right to own one!...It may be difficult to re-ammend this clause...and in any case...a minority of people including Law breakers!... will not adhere to any firearms ban!...they will just keep them in a safer place!...

It could never happen for the reason in your question. Gun owners will never give up their guns to the government.

Owning firearms is a RIGHT. With RIGHTS, YOU are the ultimate authority. Period.
The government cannot tell you what you can and cant do regarding RIGHTS.
The 2ND Amendment is not a privilege, if it was a privilege given by government, it could then be taken away. But it is a RIGHT, and therefore cannot be taken away.
If there was a ban, it would be up for the people to FIGHT for freedom!
If anyone disagrees with me, please learn what the difference between RIGHTS and PRIVILEGES are.

No and they shouldn't.
"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. "
Thomas Jefferson
Then we would be communist. NO WAY. My safe full of guns stays right where it is and I dare anyone to try to break in to my house or tell me we can't hunt anymore.

Former NRA president Heston got one thing ABSOLUTELY right, even if they are right-wing fools on everything else!
"From my cold, dead hands!"
And those who pretend to be leftists but are against gun rights would do well to ponder THIS quote:
"There are no circumstances imaginable, not even victory, under which the proletariat should give up its possession of arms." -- Karl Marx
