All of a sudden the righties are screaming that the CEO at NBC or GE (I'm confused who they blame) has the power to influence the network's messaging.

Yet all this time they deny that Rupert Murdoch has the power to create conservative bias at Fox and that bias REALLY originates with all those reporters who are registered Democrats.

Oh yeah and in the journalism schools with those wacky liberal professors.

So righties - which is it? Careful, you may end up with some discomfort caused by the cognitive dissonance of your delusions shattering.

In the past, waves of immigrants into the USA provided the labor force for many lower paying jobs in the USA. With limits of immigration, those jobs are being filled today by illegals crossing the border from Mexico.
What is the solution to the need of low skilled labor in an expanding economy? Do we just continue to let illegals to cross the border? Do we start some sort of guest worker program as Bush suggested? Do we try to annex or purchase the northern provinces of Mexico and create new states?

What do you see as the solution to this problem?

How many here are disgusted by Oprah's support of Obama? I think her brains would outweigh her prejudice - is it pretty obvious to me that Oprah is for blacks, in spite of the fact that whites and blacks who made who she is today. But, whenever she invests time/money into a project or a cause, it only benefits the black community.

Her school for girls serves blacks, her support for Obama appears to be only because he is black. When she made a film, The Color Purple, it was about blacks...

I have always liked Oprah, but the more she does this, the more she loses me as a fan.

Anyone who supports Obama is risking a loss in 2008 and we badly, BADLY need a Dem pres to win, and he is too inexperienced to deal with the huge job of fixing the disasters made by Bush.

Wake up, Oprah, this is not the time and place for games about race.

NBC has rejected a TV ad by Freedom's Watch, that asks viewers to remember and thank U.S. troops during the holiday season.
NBC said it declined to air the ad because it refers to the group's Web site"Anybody in the world who would look at this ad would come away with nothing other than we should thankful for their service," Freedom's Watch president Brad Blakeman said.
The spot was to be part of a seven-figure campaign that includes newspaper ads and television commercials. The ads are to run on CNN and Fox News Channel and are running in various newspapers. The New York Times ran a full-page Freedom's Watch ad Friday that said "Thank You!" and depicted a soldier reading a letter. The newspaper ad also contained the Web site address.

I have always been a conservative, though I don't support our current administration. I have noticed that conservatives constantly call liberals' patriotism into question. I do not see liberals accusing conservatives of being unpatriotic nearly as much. Do I have to support a war that is, in my opinion, unjust and support a president I believe to be unfit in order to be a conservative? Must I blindly follow any leader who is conservative? Does it not make better sense to try to understand both sides than to paint everyone who is against the war as anti-American? I still strongly disagree with the vast majority of liberal ideals, but I don't believe liberals to be evil, nor do I think they support their country's enemies. Watch how opposing politicians interact. Most seem to be friendly, if not down-right chummy with their adversaries. Do you think this is disingenuous or do they simply learn to leave their jobs at the office?

... are all getting "killed" by the price of corn.

For example, 80% of a hog's diet is from corn.

Yet, Dems have caused corn prices to double over the past year with their demands that we use ethanol.

Poor people around the world are starving because they can't afford to see prices for things like corn double.

And, the American breakfast is getting nailed too.

Yet, we've only just begun to use as much ethanol and farm land as Dems insist that we use for energy.

Is it good to take away the land that is needed to feed the billions of people in the world?

The intelligence provided was gathered while Clinton was President and Bush spoken the EXACT words of Democrats when presenting the proposal of force in Iraq.

I read slanderous remarks here daily and wonder if we would not be better served to prosecute those that commit the crime. I am a proponent of free speech but not of malicious slander and libelous statements that are unsupportable.

It demonstrates to me the utter lack of conviction and belief in the complexities of the world as we understand it today, and, implies a passion for the ignorant and steadfast accpetance of that which, is, well, false. This makes a lousy President, because, they are too simplistic intellectually.
