What is your opinion, should America continue to be involved in world security and foreign affairs as much as it is now, and be an active world leader, or should Americans adopt an isolationist policy and leave the rest of the world to its own devices?

Now, we find out that the whitehouse is spying on financial records, in addition to phone records. Senator Joe McCarthy did this same thing during the red scare, and ruined several people's lives. When are we going to stop this?

I admit we made a mistake; I only do so now knowing the outcome. It would be great to know the outcome of all our decisions prior to making them! What I dont get is how some Americans are blaming the entire war on him & stating he purposely lied. US presidents do not have the sole power to declare war. Both Democrat & Republican representatives reviewed the SAME intelligence info that Bush had & agreed to this war. Knowing this, how can one attempt to lay the entire blame on his shoulders? If I remember correctly, these same people were on the other side of the spectrum after 9/11 asking What did he know? & When did he know it? He gets blamed either way. He is only human for God's sake. He felt the same pain we all felt watching our countrymen murdered in front of our very eyes. Why can't people put themselves in his shoes? What decision would you have made if it were you who had an entire nations safety in your hands?
