I admit we made a mistake; I only do so now knowing the outcome. It would be great to know the outcome of all our decisions prior to making them! What I dont get is how some Americans are blaming the entire war on him & stating he purposely lied. US presidents do not have the sole power to declare war. Both Democrat & Republican representatives reviewed the SAME intelligence info that Bush had & agreed to this war. Knowing this, how can one attempt to lay the entire blame on his shoulders? If I remember correctly, these same people were on the other side of the spectrum after 9/11 asking What did he know? & When did he know it? He gets blamed either way. He is only human for God's sake. He felt the same pain we all felt watching our countrymen murdered in front of our very eyes. Why can't people put themselves in his shoes? What decision would you have made if it were you who had an entire nations safety in your hands?

As someone who believes in the good of America and its democratic institutions, I too cannot understand the venom, hatred and criticisms that Americans have for their President who is elected by the people.

President George W Bush is not perfect but is perfectly right to have done what he did... in Afghanistan, in Iraq. Instead of rallying as one people to stand with him in the fight to defend freedom and peace, segments of Americans have gone out of their way to undermine his leadership. I think it borders on traitorous behaviour.

What if Chicago's Sears Towers get blown-up? Will these critics then take the side of the President? Because the system worked to PREVENT a disaster most just treat it as passing news. Thank God these so-called Americans are in the minority.

You need to catch up on the news more. His administration suppressed information that didn't make the case for war and only submitted intel that would make the case for war. So at first it does look like everyone was showed the same intelligence, but that's only because it wasn't known back then that the administration didn't show the international community all the intelligence. Another point: He is the commander in chief and Congress gave him the power to go to war. He chose to do so, so now look at the picture. He has to be accountable. Ever heard the saying, "The buck stops here." Well it's stopping right at Bush's front door. He made a decision now he's paying the consequences.

First of all, I don't hate Bush.

Secondly, you are correct that Senate, Congress and the Administration all read the same NIE in 2002. This was a report written in two weeks before the vote to invade Iraq-a report that usually takes a year to write.

However...Bush put pressure on Tenet to find a link between Iraq and al-Qaeda and 9/11. Tenet was also pressured to find one because Cheney and Rumsfeld were trying to persuade Bush to put them in charge of Iraq intelligence. Cheney disliked Tenet from day one because he was a democrat and appointed during the Clinton administration.

Basically it came down to politics and fabrication to make it look "plausible". I don't really think that you can point a finger to exactly who is at fault, but the fact is we were persuaded to go to war over bad intelligence.

They have yet to find yellowcake or the WMD's that we went to war over. Yes, they did find WMD's made over 10 years ago but even the Bush administration admits that these are not the WMD's discussed in the 2002 NIE.

Obviously Iraq had WMD's in the 90's. Was there ever any question? I believe this is why Operation Desert Fox was launched in 1998. And until we find WMD's manufactured after 1998, I will continue to feel like I was duped by the government to serve someone's agenda.

And I can't hold Bush entirely responsible, but I do lack respect for him because he allowed Rumsfeld and Cheney to make a fool of him.

Kerry,Kennedy and the rest of the left wing nuts caused most of the hatred for Our President. The media is on the left,Most of Hollywood. They fight him in everything he does through the media. I've realized that most of the people in this country don't have a clue. They are wrapped up in their own little world and they won't take the time to find out whats really happening.
Everytime someone like Murtha or Kerry,Carter run their mouths against this country the terrorist laugh. This feed that the LibLeft gives them is power. United We Stand,Divided We FALL. I don't agree with the President on everything but I do believe that the Muslim Jihadist gave us NO choice. I commend Our President and Our Military for the response to retaliate against the enemies of Our Nation!

Ok. First, Bush didn't lie. Second, if Blair did lie how is that the Presidents fault?

I think that you have some excellent points in your question but there really isn't a way to answer it. The liberal mind to a Conservatives is like the mans mind to a woman. There are just things we shouldn't know. I wouldn't want to spend one minute inside a liberals brain. Heck, hearing the crap pour out of their mouths is hard enough to handle can you imagine actually believing all that.

He started this war in Iraq for 2 reasons. To capture Saddam, and to find WMD's. Well, he accomplished the first, and the second one is a joke. Even if they did have them, how the hell would our guys ever find them?
Now, the whole thing is pointless, and he's just leaving our troops there so he wont look stupid. He knows things aren't getting better, the country is no more stable now than it was 3 years ago. Yet every day, more of our soldiers die, for nothing, and more get sent over.....the guy stepped in quicksand and don't know how to get out.

It's pretty simple, really. He KNEW of the deception from the outset and snookered the rest of the people (law makers and everyone else) into believing it.

He's a liar and a scoundrel and should be ousted along with Cheney and the rest of the lot.

I did not serve this country for over 21 years to be lied to by an incompetent Commander in Chief. Of course I'm pissed. I have every right to be.

You are clearly not very intelligent, or capable of rational thought - just like the idiot pyscho in the White House.

Of course he lied. So did Blair.

Neither of them gave any thought to the consequences of their actions - beyond getting their names in the history books.

It was wrong to invade Iraq. Any fool could have seen that - except it seems, the fools making the decisions.

As for safety - the worls is now a much LESS safe place in which to live than it was before the invasion.

Sit somewhere quiet and give it some serious thought.

Whew.! Finally.
Someone sees the REAL person behind the presidency.

I have been saying this to many people around me. I could not have said this better. Thanks for seeing it in the proper light.

Bush has this in him - he says things the way they are. He is clear in his directions. Not everyone have to love him but to say he is entirely, single handedly responsible is downright nonsense. There is a system of government that has a check and balance. No president can make a major decision - such as going to war - on his own. It is easy to blame and complain.

His words: "Either you are with us or against us". This is how clear he is in most of his approaches to world situations. Kudos to Mr. President.

I agree that he doen't have total power, but people gotta get blaimed for something. For instance, in Baseball, Barry Bonds is hated for the Steriods scandal more than anyone, but is he the only one to take them or is he just the face of a league that is totally dirty. same deal, every president is hated because hollywood hates them and we are a nation devided to begin with.
