To prove that history is constantly being rewritten, I have heard some people claim recently that Abrahan Lincoln was one of our worst presidents. Their justification for this is the belief that the Confederate states would have happily returned to the in Union 20-30 years, after it became apparant that slavery was no longer tolerated elsewhere in the civilized world. They say slavery was already dying out, and that North and South could have parted amicably, and then reunited with no ill effects. Is this a realistic scenario? If our country had split in two, would France or England have tried to control one region or the other?

560,000 people died in the Civil War. Some revisionists are saying it was too high a price, and not necessary.

Imagine that a foreign army invades your country and drops a bomb on your house that kills your loved ones. You’re enraged, so you resist. But you’re overmatched by the occupiers’ firepower, so your only chance to dislodge them is to wreak havoc through asymmetrical warfare. Your opponents won’t call it that, though. They’ll call it terrorism. And once they own that word, they win.

Barbaric American troops stationed at permanent bases all over the world suppressing democracy and committing acts of savagery. These acts are committed under the banner of the stars and stripes and given noble explanations in the commercial media. Every day the savage Bushites who are running the government are planning new horrors, an endless litany of death and mayhem to be committed in YOUR name for corporate profits. Most people, it seems to me, have no clue about the atrocities that are being committed by their barbaric government. They do not want to know.

The US and the Allies struggled for 4-5 years with Nazi "freedom fighters" (LOL) in W. Germany. The Russians on the otherhand eliminated the problem in a matter of months. Shall we give them a call to find out what the secret was?

Do you think the recent news of 500 old WMD's (mustard and seran gas) was "fed" to the media to divert attention away from the alledged murders commited by our own US Marines, If the Marines are convicted will the Neocons be outraged?

The Neocons appear to be convinced that the Old and useless WMD's found today in 2006! are "the smoking gun" when in fact anyone educated in world politics know that for a country the size of Iraq with a leader such as Hussein, the amount is so trivial that it doesn't even register on the radar screen, yet Neocons are dancing in the streets. Where am I going wrong?

If you ask political questions why do you ask them?
A) Genuine curiousity about what others think on the subject.
B) I don't trust the government and everyone needs to know it.
C) I just can't get enough people bashing George Bush.

If you answer political questions why do you answer them?
A) Genuinely feel I have something to contribute to the discussion.
B) I am the smartest person on the web and everyone needs to know it.
C) I just hate George Bush and I can't bash him enough.

This in not a joke question, I am genuinely curious about people's opinions. It is also not an open invitation to start bashing George Bush. I take exception with many things about the Mr. Bush, but he is the president and I will always honor the spirit of the office no matter who occupies it.

My Answer: A to both.
Reason: I think debate is healthy is healthy in a free society. However name calling, especially against other debaters is counter-productive to the point you may be trying to make.

Who else thinks we should not waste our breath trying to talk with
these guys and just do whatever it takes to shoot down the missle.
Or should we let them do whatever they want, "again" by our inaction.

People of Americal are lovable. But it is the Government that does matter. One must distinguish between the government and the nation. The Government is celebrating it's avarice, prejudices, exploitation, massacres and war-greediness. Under unipolar umbrella it has the opportunity to go unchecked.

At the same time the nation hates all these.

In all countries people as such do hate war and wish for peace. People have the longing for frataernity. But the Government on the helm of affairs for their known or hidden agenadas of exploitation divide people, dominate other poor countries, loot their resources and hawk war. The Government manipulataes all these through the media. An the ruling media dominataes. It subjugates human minds. Create senses and sensibilities. Conquer the sub consciences.

America's war hawking and exploiting policies are cursed by people of America and elsewhere...

One should always distinguish between the Government and the People. Otherwise he or she may become a blind biased being with always negative feelingsl
