People of Americal are lovable. But it is the Government that does matter. One must distinguish between the government and the nation. The Government is celebrating it's avarice, prejudices, exploitation, massacres and war-greediness. Under unipolar umbrella it has the opportunity to go unchecked.

At the same time the nation hates all these.

In all countries people as such do hate war and wish for peace. People have the longing for frataernity. But the Government on the helm of affairs for their known or hidden agenadas of exploitation divide people, dominate other poor countries, loot their resources and hawk war. The Government manipulataes all these through the media. An the ruling media dominataes. It subjugates human minds. Create senses and sensibilities. Conquer the sub consciences.

America's war hawking and exploiting policies are cursed by people of America and elsewhere...

One should always distinguish between the Government and the People. Otherwise he or she may become a blind biased being with always negative feelingsl

Well first of all Indian Boy, that doesn't read like "your opinion". That reads like something you copied and pasted from MoveOn.org.

You really cant separate our government from our people because we are a nation of the people by the people. As a nation, we have strayed from that a bit. In some matters, our government goes against our wishes. When that happens, we have the opportunity to get rid of our government and elect a new one.

Frankly, the only time I see any strife between us and the rest of the world is when we are not doing what the UN dictates. And when other nations are in trouble or need billions of dollars in aid, who's their buddy? The good old US of A.

Iranian guy-America loves you, too, friend :-)

American government is chosen by a perversion of what the USA thinks is a system known elsewhere as Democracy. Therefore the government is a representation of the will of the people and subsequently the people are responsible for and represented by the action of the government they allow into power. How embarassing for you - Better luck in the next election!

(Imagine what a different country and world you could be experiencing had the Democratically chosen leader actually been permitted to govern)

I love this country with all my heart. I would die for my country IF and only IF a war were to come here. That means I would not go to another country to fight in a war.
I hate the people that run this country. They are becoming dictators. Instead of working for us they are working against us. Something has to be done. More US people need to stand up for their right and democracy instead of sitting back and letting the gov't do what they want. Our forefathers had a Boston tea party and why did they do that. If you dont know maybe you should go back to the library and study up on our history a little and see how WE WERE UNITED.

I disagree somewhat. You suggest distinguishing between a people and a government and its people. Unfortunately, in a country like the US, the people vote in the government, sometimes the same government twice.. Therefore, the government is a representative of the people, for the people, by the people. Mind you, not everyone in the US voted for the government in power, so it is more accurate to suggest that the government represents the vote of half the people.

The US government was freely elected by the American people...so your feeling that you can assault the government as hateful, with the qualification that the American people are lovable is nonsense, and a mere ploy to lull us into believing this is not a personal attack.

My view if your opinion of America is that it is naive. I suggest it is you who are being mislead and influenced by your news media.

America does not want war. America and many who despise war realize there are things worth fighting for.

It is the responsibility of civilized nations to stop genocide when it occurs. To defeat tyrants who regard it's nations citizens as chattel. To swiftly confront terrorism before it becomes a threat to the nations citizens and to the world as a whole.

Ignoring those that seek to make a world where they would impose their religious beliefs on others at penalty of death...would regard women as filthy property...Believe that torture and murder in the name of their god is right, justified and even required. Ignoring this would be the ruination of civilization.

So you enjoy your peaceful America hating attitudes, safe in the knowledge that "lovable Americans" are out literally saving your neck.

You have no idea what you're talking about. That's what I think. Have you been to war? Has your family been attacked by psychopaths? I have been to Iraq twice. I have seen the terrorist murder the Iraqi children. My father was there in World War II when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. In Afghanistan, the Taliban use to freely murder people with AK-47s out in front of the public.
Why do you take the side of terrorism? Why do you blame my country for starting this blood bath? Are you a terrorist trying to stir up hatred? Or are you an ignorant child who wants attention but has no idea what you're talking about?
You need to leave your home and go to these countries you are talking about and see how they treat people.
When you speak of a blind biases with negative feelings, you speak of yourself.
Know this my friend, you speak out against the U.S. with safety and it makes you brave. I challenge you to speak out against the terrorists in the same way on this public forum. I don't think you are brave enough.

Your opinion of America is completely wrong. Our form of government is correctly defined as a "representative republic." The people of the USA elect representatives to three branches of government: Executive, Legislature, and Judicial. Ours is a government "of the people, by the people, for the people" as explained by Abraham Lincoln, one of our greatest presidents.
Ours is a benevolent government. When we defeat countries in war, we build them back up, rather than subjugate the people (Japan, Europe, South Korea are examples.) Which government was first to help after the tsunami hit Indonesia or after the earthquakes hit Pakistan? In both cases individuals helped without involvement of the US government.
We have a system of checks and balances, that being the three branches of government. Our most important system of checks is the ballot box. Polititions get voted out of office if they do not measure up.
Your predujices are showing when you accuse us of avarice, exploitation, etc. We have spent billions of dollars and sacrificed thousands of lives in defeating terrorists while trying to free millions in Afghanistan and Iraq. We are trying to rein in terroristic governments in North Korea and in Iran.
Our government does not control the media. That is as far as you can get from the truth. Go on line and read our newspapers.

in the good ol' us, the gov't is a product of its people... not only that, but the current gov't could have been turned out in 04, and it wasn't. this doesn't say much for the american people. though i see your point, i think you're stretching. there are good people in every country... just so happens that right now in the us, they aren't in the majority... in my humble opinion.

The AMERICAN PEOPLE voted for Bush. And before you say only a minority voted-the vast majority could not care enough about the mess he's making of the world to vote against him.
