I understand your frustration that the Canadians did not help you in the war with Iraq but the USA did not provide us with enough evidence of weapons of mass destruction. The role of Canadians has always been a peace keeper. They are assisting in Afghanistan.

Politicians and NAFTA are the biggest hurdles to overcome. Never would Canadians say FU to the USA. Most times we as average citizens never really know all of the facts and why decisions are made. Good or bad. As a Canadian, I respect Americans and their international decisions.

As individuals, Canadians and Americans do get along. It's our crappy governments that create the friction.

If NAFTA had worked like it was intended, relations between our countries would be far better. Add to the mix the "Department of Homeland Security" and you have a volatile mix.

The only way the political relations will recover is to start over.

I am an American citizen. I can not speak for the perspective governments. I know ours is out of control and needs to be reigned in. I drove a truck for many years and have traveled into Ontario many times and I was always treated with respect. More respect as a matter of fact then I received from my own country men sometimes. So I do not believe that the people to people relationship is strained.

I think always there was a little disagreeal, I mean what to countries don't, everyone wants to be the best. But I do think that they used to have a pretty strong alience, but since ther terrerisme everythings changes, sucurity, war, and so much more. The world is constatly changing with more problems to be wary of and more the more things they each need to be wary of the less they can trust each other.

I don't have a problem with Canadians, it is the illegal immigrants especially from Mexico that I have a problem, they think they have a right to be over here, well if they aren't a citizen they have no right to be over here unless they have a special grant from the government

They simply dont care about each other.
Americans tend to make fun of them, but Canadians simply rise above it, since they are better educated and actually have a culture.

If you can't count on your best friend who can you count on. I'm for lowering the Canadian flag anywhere it flies next to the stars and stripes here in the USA. Other countries said,"Look, even the Canadians won't support they're friend in need.....Why should we?". Thanks neighbor. and FU too!

They get along :)

You haven't lived in Taiwan, so you really don't know what a "strained relationship" means, hahaha! (Like being afraid you'd be nuked by China any day, how's that for a strained relationship?)
