Did we "know" Iraq had WMDs because we set them up to acheive them? What do you think of it?

Did we expect to find them because we sent them biological agents and equipment for the development of WMDs?

Can anyone think of ANY special interest groups who are not generally upset with the president?

ACLU, NAACP, AFL-CIO, AARP, NEA, NOW, etc.?
The only one I can think of would be the CC (Christian Coalition) because they are so mesmerized with anti-same-sex marriage, anti-abortion, and anti-stem-cell research that they do not care about any other issues at hand today whatsoever.

Do religious beliefs influence American political policy?

I hear a lot of modern people say that they think judgement day will be coming in the near future. They say that there will be a lot of war and strife soon and God will judge humanity and solve all our problems. This troubles me because I think that people (especially our politicians) may expect war and suffering so much that they end up causing it. I also think that since people (again some politicians) expect the end of the world as we know it, they may not plan for the future by taking care of the environment. Any thoughts on this?
