Earlier this week the San Francisco city council held a vote to pass a resolution denouncing a nationside radio talk show host who is based out of San Francisco (David Savage) because of comments he has made about immigration. In order for the resolution to pass it had to be unanamous. The vote was 9-1. The guy voting against the resolution said he didn't agree with what Mr. Savage said but he did support his right to say it.

Are the liberals in San Francisco trying to outlaw Freedom of Speech?

In the time your government has been in power we have lost most of the things owned by the government/people, Aust. post, Telecom, Qantas, Ansett as well as other Iconic businesses. What have you in your time put back in bricks and mortar which will benifit future generations after you are gone.I realise that many of the sales were started by the previous government but Liberal has not stopped any that were begun and has allowed others to be started. Why are the billions from Telecom going overseas now not back into the Au. govt coffers.
The same could be said for Aust. Post yes it would have cost the govt. money to have held on to these entities but would have gained much more in the long run. I fail to see any long term planning for aleviation of many of the ills which are making Australia a less desirable place to live. I am 63 yrs old work in China because i cannot do so at home and love Australia very much. I also fear dying in foreign land but can't afford to come home. Bev

With so many of the Irish people standing up and denouncing Dick Roche (one of the Irish ministers) for demolishing 4000 year old mounds to make way for a freeway (which could be built along several alternate routes with almost no inconvenience or little extra cost), do you think that the government has the right to proceed with the destruction? Are there people who think this is a good thing, destroying the old to make room for the new? Anyone who thinks that the destruction of some of the oldest man made structures in the world is comparable to destroying Stonehenge and should be prevented?

In Turkey, our valuable writer Emin Çölaşan, while he had taken a firm position against the government reflecting his republican and his behaviour adherent of Ataturk’s policy, was fired on 14\08\07 as Hurriyet the newspaper was sold to the political authorities. We, as Çölaşan lovers, have stopped buying Hurriyet to show that we are together in this road with him. To support us and not to be pawns of the government, please share your answers!!

A friend told me that Kushwant Singh made abusive remarks on Ms.Menaka gandhi in one of his essays. But I did not come across anything disgraceful that Kushwant Singh wrote on Ms.Menaka Gandhi.Rather,Kuswant Singh earned displeasure of Indira Gandhi for supporting the cause that Menaka Gandhi envisioned;environment and love for the animals and birds.Indira Gandhi thought that Kushwant was supporting Menaka's cause.Kushwant had to pay price for that too.But when did he write anything filthy about Menaka Gandhi, which Manaka had to sue against him? If it is true could you write me the name of the essay, the book this essay is compiled or quote the relevant lines/paras from Kushwant Singh's essay ,if you have the essay/ book with you?

That principle is contempt prior to investigation.
