If you don't appear to Jury Duty after receiving a summons the judge can issue a bench warrent for your arrest. This could lead to a fine or jail time as it is considered failure to appear.

Nope (Too much Wikipedia again)
They will summons you three times.

If you miss all three they will assume your address is no god and stop calling on you. While it is technically a crime to refuse jury duty almost a third of those called do not show up.

If you get a fine for it. Pay it. It is not that much.

KEARNEY (AP) -- Somebody's not getting the message.

A Kearney man was arrested on a warrant this week after he failed to show up at a Buffalo County courtroom for jury duty, then failed to pay a court-imposed fine for his no show.

Delroy Fischer, 28, was scheduled to serve jury duty in August, but didn't report to the courthouse.

District Judge John Icenogle found Fischer in contempt and ordered him to pay $93 in fines and court costs.

Court clerk Sharon Mauler said Fischer had until Sept. 1 to pay the fine, but never did.

Fischer was arrested Wednesday and booked at the Buffalo County Detention Center. He paid the fine and was released.

Potential jurors are advised of their expected appearance several weeks in advance and told to contact the court immediately if there are any conflicts.

Others could soon find themselves subject to the court's frustration.

Jury selection was delayed for an hour in one Buffalo County case Monday when nine people failed to report for jury duty.

You don't want to do that. You may be served by the court and have to pay a fine and still have to do the jury duty.

If you have a legitimate reason for missing - like no one else to care for your child - you can call or tell the clerk of court and they may release you, but you must appear!

Most important: follow the instructions on the notice you received! If it tells you to show up at a particular time/place, do it. If it tells you to call the night before to confirm your show up time/place, do it. If it tells you to complete a form ahead of time, do it. Read the notice in its entirety & follow the instructions. It will help you avoid headaches & make the court staff's job easier. Second: bring something to read. It's not uncommon for prospective jurors to spend hours sitting around waiting. Third: dress appropriately. This does not mean you have to wear a tie or other "professional" attire. But don't show up in dirty jeans & a hoodie. It may be viewed as disrespectful. Also, dress in layers...most courthouses I've been to have unpredictable heating/cooling.

I believe that you could be either fined or go to jail.
Do not miss it. Do whatever you need to do in order to remember.

I would call right away. They don't cotton too well to people who "accidentally" miss it. They will reschedule you. If you ignore this, it will not bode well.
