I've just seen a documentary about the war in Iraq. There were a few vox pop interviews in which some American people were suggesting that the war was a valid response to 911. Is there anybody out there who still believes this, and if so, why?
thank you.

If people are so unsure about global warming, then why not ask the experts? If I am sick, I turn to a physician. If my lights don't work I call an electrician. Why do media outlets keep turning to other journalists, legal analysts, and politicians for answers?
Much of the current debate involving global-warming seems to revolve around whether Al Gore is 'correct' in his claims about global-warming and the skeptics (usually political pundits, and the like) who oppose him, and these may be people who have opinions, but no real knowledge of the complexities of environmental engineering. I have not seen many debates on the news where expert is pitted against expert.
Why do the news outlets continue to harp on Al Gore's credibility--like somehow this invalidates research performed by scientists on whether global warming exists? If the media is really that concerned about getting the facts out to the people, then shouldn't they invite top scientists and engineers to speak in these forums?

Or National Geographic channel - Or a camera man on a nationwide television network. It's always been a dream of mine. What field should I go into in college, and how would I find a job (where would I look?) I'm talking about working on documentaries that go to exotic places and film the animals, people, and environment. I've always wanted to pursue this as a career. Thanks.

My parents mentioned something about a video in which people from the U.K. (I think?) interview Americans on the street to prove a theory that we're, well, stupid. I heard it was funny/painful to watch, so naturally I have to know where it is. Sorry, I am extremely out of the loop...

Do they teach you to keep the center of the video shot closer to the top of the screen, rather than the exact middle?

If not, then they should, because half of the time I watch the news on TV, there is a pile of spam, tickers and crap at the bottom of the screen, then I miss viewing half of the picture.

Also, why do video photographers always zoom in all of the time at an action shot. A lot of the times, I'd like to see a wide view once in a while, to get a better idea of the location. Like a helicopter shot of a car wreck, I'd to see the wider view a few times to get an idea where they are. Most of the times I don't know Street Names, but just the area.

Is it possible the media is the disease that warps our governmental decisions, government agencies making education decisions, world bank decisions and nearly everything else? Does that sound impossible to you? Listen up: THERE IS NO GREATER POWER in the world today than that wielded by the manipulators of public opinion in America. No king or pope of old, no conquering general or high priest ever disposed of a power even remotely approaching that of the few dozen men who control America's mass media of news and entertainment. Suckers of america unite and turn things around. Treat the disease don't be diverted by the much-heralded symptoms beamed at you dailing on CNN, ABC and the New York Times and the Washington Post to name a few of hundreds. Don't sweat the small stuff, as they say in street language. It is the media. In too few special interest hands who have an axe to grind for you. Do approve of this damned class system that is already in place here? Prayer alone will not do it.

I'm considering this move - is there anything I should know about PR/Press relations that I wouldn't know from journalism?

I know they are completely different fields and on opposite ends of the spectrum but at the same time a lot of PRs are ex-journos. I'm wondering how can I make this move?

I just opened MSN front page...I've been hearing about this little polar bear in Germany whose mother abandoned him, and animal rights activists are saying that the zoo is wrong for intervening and keeping him alive. I think that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. My opinion on the matter is this: if it's wrong to abandon a human baby and let it die, shouldn't it be wrong to do the same to a baby polar bear? Some animal rights activist. I am glad that the zoo kept the darling baby alive...it is leading a happy life, from what I have seen. Sorry to ramble on, but don't you agree?? Opinions??
