What field should I go into in college, and how would I find a job (where would I look?) I'm talking about working on documentaries that go to exotic places and film the animals, people, and environment. I've always wanted to pursue this as a career. Thanks.

You can study photojournalism

and media studies in college. I got quite a few nice results searching the phrase "photojournalism major"
But actually what you really need is practice behind a camera. Try filming your neighbor's cat for a while, or go film squirrls in the public park.
