How can the U.S. claim their removal of Saddam justice because of his mass killing of Kurds a little less than two decades ago when the United States supported Saddam's coming into power, didn't do anything aobut it while it was happening and only acts on it when they have something to gain?

I think about 9/11 every day. I'm sure that most people do, because every single living day in America is another threat from terrorists. I think that Bush made the wrong decision 4 years ago to invade Iraq, because Iraq wasn't the problem or the country Osama bin Laden was in, anyway. I do feel bad for the 9/11 victims, though, but America needs 2 move on. Last year, my history teacher made a comment about Iraq that was semi-harsh. Here's what she said," You guys will never leave Iraq...as long as u guys live in here (in America,) u guys will be stuck in Iraq forever..." Sounds like a recent John Kerry comment, doesn't it? Anyway, I thought it was a bit harsh, but in a way, true to the bone. Plus, my former history teacher was "always right, and got her way, and nobody was gonna to change her mind." What do u think? Was my former history teacher right, or is Iraq screwed forever?

but these terrorist are not Muslims but most likely Hindus. The word terrorist not used for them because the media reserved the word for Muslims. These people are called rebels. Why do you think that in this news the assailants were not called terrorists.

Parts of the city, like the historic French Quarter, were built above sea level and have been there for hundreds of years. The rest of it is a murderous cesspool. Who in their right minds is in favor of dumping money down that below-sea-level rathole? Who is the idiot that issues the building permits for below-sea-level dwellings anyway? New Orleans is an embarassment to America.

Bet this is really un p.c but why are people so upset by the jeering at Saddams hanging? This is a man who personally hurled a man into a vat of boiling acid, and who ordered the death of thousands of innocents. He died according to the laws he passed... He who lives by the sword dies by the sword.... same goes for Bush and Blair btw... I'm ashamed about voting for Labour in '97.

What do you about the current worries about Iran? Is it possibly just a smoke screen for more pressing problems in the world. Who thinks that the next country to possess nuclear/chemical weapons will be a complete surprise?

I will try to get to the point real quick with this.

-For the most part, the area is very peaceful. There are 10 million+ inhabitants in the Israel-Palestine area. Only a few thousand have actually been affected by the conflict. Thousands may not seem like a small figure but compared to millions it is.

-If the conflict was as bad as the media says it is, you'd have hundereds of thousands of people dying, not a few thousand as the stats show.

-If Arabs and Jews taught their children to hate each other and want to kill each other (as some people say) then you'd have non-stop war for the past 50 years, not a militant action put out every 6 or so months which usually gives mild results.

-There are Arab-Muslims in Israel who hold high ranks in society such as judges, politicians, etc. . .There are also Jews in Palestine. If it were as bad as it's said to be, all of the Arabs in Israel would be dead and vice versa.

Read the article below if you haven't heard of it or haven't gotten an update:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070106/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/haditha_investigation

To summarize it I'll just say that as a part of "Operation Iraqi Freedom", US Marines killed 24 civilians at Haditha, Iraq. The unarmed civilians were killed by various methods of murder, from grenades to gunshots. 5 of the unarmed civilians were said to have been lined up and then shot one by one, execution style by the Marine Squad leader (that's what the investigators said). When he was done, other marines then shot at the lying bodies several times.

Defense attorneys have disputed the idea that the shootings were in revenge for the roadside bombing, saying their clients were doing what they had been trained to do: responding to a perceived threat with legitimate force. But come on! We're not that stupid. A profession, disciplined, trained soldier (as the Marines say they are) doesn't get revenge on civilians by lining. .
