Bossier, LA (AHN) - A couple was booked on charges of child desertion and criminal negligence after a pit bull puppy chewed off four of their month-old baby's toes. Mary Shannon Hansche, 22, and Christopher Wayne Hansche, 26, told police they were sleeping on a mattress on their living room floor with the baby in an infant seat beside them. They say they were awakened by the infant's cries, saw her mangled foot, and rushed her to the hospital at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

The baby had surgery Sunday, but her toes could not be reattached, police spokesman Mark Natale said.

The Hansches did not see the 6-week-old pit bull biting the baby, according to Natale. It had no record of receiving its shots and was quarantined for 10 days to check for rabies. Natale said he did not know what would happen to the puppy after that.

Do you think these parents were sufficiently punished?

Please tell me why? I fell so bad for those kids and their Mothers killed by once again cowards. Please show me the outrage by any Muslim Leader. Please! I waiting to hear! If I was Muslim I would be pissed off he even wasted time and tax money with that. I am so pissed off and feel sad for those kids at the Bagdad Bus Stop I may run for President of the US and form an Army and launch an attack against those cowards and hunt them down just to help those Mothers and Children. 3month old puppy chews toes off of a 1 mopnth old baby, parents are blaming 3 month old puppy for doing it. Puppy may have done it but he did not know it was wrong. Puppies chew. I blame parents for putting baby where puppy to get to it and chew off toes. Where were they while it was going on? If they were in the room none of the toes would have been lost. It is a pit bull puppy.

Right now as we speak, the governor of michigan is considering a bill that would allow security guards in the state of michigan to use tasers on citziens. I think it's bad enough that the police use tasers on citizens, but could you imagine inexperienced security guards tasering citizens. You can find out about the story on google news. If you dont want this bill to pass, then email the governor of michigan with your opposition. Already in the United States, more than 200 citizens have died after being tasered by the police.

Many critics of tasers argue that tasers are being used on citizens very often and they are not being used as a last resort. In some cases, the police have tasered young children, senior citizens and citizens that have been sleeping. I have heard a lot of talk about the iraq war. The reason why im headed to iraq is not because i believe with the politics, im going there because there is a fellow service man/woman over there that didnt ask to go themselves, and they need to be relieved so they can come back home.

We as servicemen and women dont ask to do things we do, we do them because we love our way of life and our freedom, THIS WE WILL DEFEND and is worth fighting for.

From others who have come back from iraq wheather they are senior enlisted or officers they all say the same thing, the insurgency is coming accross the border, id rather we fight them over there than at home. I am sick and tired of looking at the news, i think we need to listen to our servicemen and women, remember one thing, both parties supported the war....

I guess 5 years makes people forget how we were attacked, the point is there is no true entrance into the middle east, we have to be there plain and simple God Bless...
