I have heard a lot of talk about the iraq war. The reason why im headed to iraq is not because i believe with the politics, im going there because there is a fellow service man/woman over there that didnt ask to go themselves, and they need to be relieved so they can come back home.
We as servicemen and women dont ask to do things we do, we do them because we love our way of life and our freedom, THIS WE WILL DEFEND and is worth fighting for.
From others who have come back from iraq wheather they are senior enlisted or officers they all say the same thing, the insurgency is coming accross the border, id rather we fight them over there than at home. I am sick and tired of looking at the news, i think we need to listen to our servicemen and women, remember one thing, both parties supported the war....
I guess 5 years makes people forget how we were attacked, the point is there is no true entrance into the middle east, we have to be there plain and simple God Bless...

I think citizens want a quick result, our freedom wasnt easy and our country took years to show its benefits, the truth is its about fighting evil! our country is free for all from all nations including iraqi americans, we have to step up to this challenge and for those who are against the war please put your mouth into voting, i dont care to hear the protestors etc, i agree with other vets here who have stated its better to fight them over there than here, you say iraq wasnt the enemy, i say the entire middle east is embedded with terrorists, its s if they tke turns, all my life its been iran, syria, lebannon, they all hate us, and i think our 9/11 showed me that we had to go to that region even if it means iraq is a starting point strategically speaking.. no i dont expect every citizen to understand what im saying, everyone cant serve no serve just remember soldiers love you and we do what we do so your families can remain safe and free god bless you all...

We don't hear about it on the news, because they seem to enjoy only the negative aspects of the war, but I know our military is doing great things over there. We have the best trained armed forces in the world and I'm am sure everything we are doing is top notch. As far as the politics of it, I am ultra-conservative but it even wears on me that alot of good folks have been hurt or killed. Obviously no war is easy, but I think our cause is a noble one and most Americans fail to see the bigger picture that these fanatics are not going to go away. We can fight them now on their turf, or we can fight them later when they attack us again. I know if you listen to the media it appears that there is little support for this mission, but there are many, many folks who are grateful and appreciative of what all of you are doing.
I think the bigger problem is that my generation (I'm 34) and younger have never lived through a real war and have never lived in hard times or had to make the extremely difficult decisions that our country is having to make now. Most are to self-abosrbed, lazy, or ignorant to realize their is a bigger picture to things than what is going on in their lives. Long-winded, I know. Thanks again for what you are doing....

First of all, I want to thank you for going to Iraq, and I thank you for what you will do when you get there. My only problem with the entire military/Iraq debacle is this: I understand that soldiers exist, and are necessary to defend our way of life. I simply feel that your/their deployment should be an absolute LAST resort, and soldiers lives should never be placed in harm's way because of lies. I support each and every soldier that serves and defends our country and our way of file, but I feel that the Government is not doing enough to see to it that you have the BEST equipment available to protect you, and that very same government is using you as pawns. In short, they are using your willingness to fight for political whims. May God bless you and keep you safe on your journey. Keep your head down.

I'm sorry that you feel that you will be defending America and its freedom by sacrificing yourself in Iraq. It's kind of silly to think of that our troops in Iraq are defending us when we were never threatened by them. You certainly don't buy the crap that Iraq attacked us on 9/11, do you? Do you understand that Saddam Hussein was an impotent turd, no threat to anyone except a few people in his country? All the American presence in Iraq has done has endangered us more, by recruiting terrorists who wouldn't have cared about us at all. They're all riled up now, aren't they?
American troops are sitting ducks in a civil war shooting gallery. Do you ever wonder if you'll be given the proper armor, weapons and supplies? Are the military leaders smart enough to not send you straight to your death (or worse, maiming?) Iraqi insurgents aren't a threat outside of Iraq, and Americans aren't going to make a damn bit of difference in the bloodshed that has been unleased by us. I wish you weren't brainwashed into thinking your service is worthwhile.
I'm sorry you're going to Iraq. For the sake of your family, don't be a hero and get your butt home safely.

I support the Troops, each and everyone of them but that doesn't require me to support this war. Some wars are just political f*ckups by politicians who never should have gotten us involved in the first place and then can't figure out how to get us out.. Ask the Vietnam vets who served their country with great pride only to come home and be called baby killers and be treated like trash.

Thank you for going to relieve some of our other men that are over there. One of my friends just got back from there. You sound like an honorable soldier and I hope that they are all like you. My husband is in boot camp and I dread the day I have to say good bye to him but deep down I support every choice he makes and it make me a proud wife to know my husband can help someone else out or relieve someone else. I support you!!
Good luck God bless and stay positive

I joineed during the first Iraq war and served ten years. I wanted to go to Iraq and rid this world of tyranny.
I thank you for your sacrifice! If I was able I would be there with you! We have not forgotten!
All our prayers are with you. God is with you!
We must stand against those who would impose their will against us. God has given u freewill. Should we allow all to be able choose?
If You listen to the LIBERAL media you always question why you are there. Listen to your heart!
God has written his word on you. i will PRAY for every day as will many here! May God bless you and keep you...and all those who take care to preserve the WAY.

Yes both parties supported this war in the beginning because it was based on LIES. Maybe everyone would still be supporting it if we had been told the truth at the beginning. Good luck to you.
