Your heart is in the right place, and I think that there is a lot more that people can do to support these people. However, we all have a choice in life, and some go down the road of prostitution.

I wish I could wave a magic wand to make all things right, but that will never happen.

We will never solve this problem with money alone, we need to learn to have more respect for each other, and this could take many years, if ever.

There should be more money spent to help families with children that have problems, to avoid the consequence's of family breakdowns, and the hurt this causes.

Many times the reason these young ladies take to their profession is due to a poor or unhappy upbringing.

Another cause is the need to have everything, and if you can't have it, steal it, if you can't steal it, and don't get it, you get depressed, and go onto drugs to make you feel better.

Sorry I'm going on so long, but I hope you will see what I am trying to say.

Your heart is completely in the right place - more people like you is what this world needs. Unfortunately though, the problems you are trying to help solve go way too deep. Drugs are a main factor in why women turn to prostitution and there is no way that any money you raise will get these ladies off the street.

Bless you for trying though sweetheart x

I know what your saying and yes it's a good thought, the only trouble is, these girls are so used to the money and (to them) the only way of earning it, that any money that was raised would soon be spent and they would be back to square one.

It's a terrible thing, but most of these poor girls are drug dependant and usually have a pimp to pay,and if you know anything about drugs, then you will know the sort of money these girls are paying for them.

I think perhaps it would be better to push for a change in law, so that brothels are made legal, then there will be no need for these girls to walk the streets, thus placing themselves in such vunerable positions.

This will also get rid of these spineless pimps, who are usually the one's who pray on your girls supplying them (initially free )with the drugs and then blackmailing them into prostituting.

I think in this day and age, everyone should accept that prostitution will always be there, and so,if the girls are protected by being in a clean safe place, with regular health checks, then it's got to be better for them and also their clientel.

Also if brothels are made legal, the girls will be paying tax on their earnings and therefore will be making a useful contribution.

I think it's very sad these girls have been murdered, and my heart goes out to their families, some who new nothing of the way their daughters were making a living.

We can't bring these girls back, but we have to find this maniac before he kills again ( he will)
because he has nothing to loose.

Why have we no capital punishment anymore,we have the DNA so we have all the proof we need.

The Law must change, we must have a deterant, and if the death penalty does not prove to be a deterant to these murderers, child abusers, terrorists, rapists, then at least if these sort of people have been put to death for their crimes, we will not have the expense of keeping them which costs us tax payers thousands of pounds every week.

And all those do gooders out there, who say the death panalty is barbaric, try and put yourselves in the place of the parents of these young girls who have lost their lives to this sick B...... that's still walking our streets.

During my lifetime I have known some girls who were into prostitution, most of them were really nice girls, (some with children). Most of these girls come from bad backgrounds, have been abused during their childhood in one way or another and have been left with very little self esteem, they're usually poorly educated and with the job situation as it is can't get employment. So you can understand why they've ended up as vice girls.

However, having said that, there are always the few who enjoy the job,and that's exactly how they see it, A JOB. I once asked" how can you have sex with anyone and everyone who walks through the door" they said, we don't look at them as men, they mean money to us, that's all, nothing else,it's just a job.

You will always find narrow minded people around who are abored by prostitution and I don't suppose you will change them. But you will also always have men around who will want the services of a prostitute.
You would be surprised how many "normal" married men visit brothels, because they can perform acts with a prostitute they they would be too embarrased to ask their wife to do.
Many prostitutes save marriages.
Many young men visit a prostitute to satisfy sexual needs, who don't particularly want to get into a relationship.
There are lots of reasons why we do need these girls, but of course I mean the one's who choose to be in this profession and not those who are forced into it.

God bless the poor young girls who have lost their lives, and lets hope that this evil sick b...... is found soon, and brothels are made legal, and the death penalty is bought back.

As prostitution is one of the oldest professions in the world and while you have women/girls willing to sell themselves and men/boys only too eager to buy their services no matter how much you could raise would make no difference at this time. Prostitution needs legallising so the women/girls who want to earn a living in that sort of job can do so safely and to stop the pimps and the ilk making a living off them.

I doubt it these girls are there through choice. I know it sounds harsh but all five victims were known heroin addicts. It costs money to get the drugs. The reason most girls are still on the street is because they are addicts and/or they are being pimped. It's not as easy as giving them money. They will always need a fix just to "keep well" and some will always have debts to pay to their pimps.

i dont think we the public can help these girls,by donations,as where do we stop...every town and city in the uk has prostitution on our streets, what should be done is not legalize prostitution ...but legalize and supply the girls with free heroin and needles and access to a back up service and counsellors, with no drug habits to feed i reckon 80% to 90% of the street girls would be off the dark, lonely and cold streets to hopefully a safer life for them and their families..lets also remember a lot of these girls have suffered appalling childhoods, getting introduced to drugs as schoolchildren, broken homes you name it.....lets hope the cops get a good break and catch the slime that has done these appalling acts

I think the only answer is to legalise prostitution and have it so they have to work from an address. I think also that if punters had to go to an address it would deter a lot of the weirdos that like kerb crawling.
It's a tricky one. The underlying factor in a lot of cases is drug abuse and that's is a very involved subject with no easy answers.
Nice thought, have you thought about running for prime minister, we could do with a human.

I think it would be, but your not going to get a lot of people donating money to this cause most of these girls are on the streets to feed drug habits and then there's people out working all day there hardly likely to donate there hard earned cash to fund drug addicts, i know not all of them are. I do hope they catch this guy soon and he doesn't get a chance to kill anyone else.

I admire your generosity of heart and I am sure a gesture like that would not go amiss. I feel though, that to actually stop prostitution, you are going to need to stop the men buying the sex in the first place.

Make working girls legal. Let them declare their earnings and pay tax. Let the work in a secure environment with security guards manning the premises -panic buttons etc!
