deadly consequences? So here we go again. Bush. Iran seeking nuclear weapons. That Iran suspend her uranium enrichment. He implies that the U.S. is the one and only country that is deserving of nuclear weapons, He continues to do this, even given our reputation, of unilateral decisions that have wreaked havoc on so many innocent lives...

and so within this war on terror, seemingly extending to a war on collective sensiblities, on common sense, and on deadly US-led decisions, Bush moves in another direction.
This morning, Bush backed down a bit He warns Iran to "immediately begin negotiations on its nuclear program", further warning that "delays would bring consequences." He later directs his comments to the people of Iran, assuring that he is not waging war. He applauds them as a people, while praising their very rich culture and .remarkable past history.
The U.S. is not ready for Iran. Not yet.
Just a few more speeches....on freedom and democracy..
and then,
dejavu

Cell-phone photos taken shortly before a Harlem man was shot dead by a cop show the victim posing with the very gun he allegedly leveled at the police officer.
Mingo Kenneth Mason, 18, was fatally shot outside the East River Houses Saturday morning after pointing the loaded .25-caliber handgun at a cop, police officials said yesterday.

Photos obtained by the Daily News last night show Mason posing with the gun. The photos were taken with a cell- phone camera and e-mailed to Mason's friends, before being obtained by The News.

Cops responded to a 911 tipster who saw Mason showing off a handgun to three pals outside 420 E. 105th St. shortly before 12:50 a.m., police said. He was 5 to 10 feet from the second group of officers when he pointed the weapon at a 13-year veteran and refused an order to drop the gun, Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Browne said yesterday.

how can anyone on this planet - religion and politics aside - possibly justify a well documented policy that calls for action to be taken against anyone choosing not to comply (and one action is not merely brutal, but mandated!) to a policy which occurred in 1096? 1096!! Bear in mind also, Alexis Comneus felt pilgrims were being attacked on their way to worship! And it was Pope Urban II that began the crusades. This is now the 21st century we live in ppl! Where, and more importantly, when, does common sense enter our thoughts and minds? Have we not learned anything?

More troops sent by the Queen helped the American revolution cause, perhaps the increasing US presents in Iraq may eventually unit Iraq's rebellious citizens to do everything in their power to send us packing home. Do you have any historical example that contradict this or do you agree?

It seems that these punks are more and more present in our society. They have no regard for human life. They think carrying a gun is a sign of manhood, but the shooters so called manhood turned him into a big PU_SSY.

What does it take to cleanse young men from doing such violent acts. Should they be electro shocked at an early age to repress violence with guns.

I don't know, they are all sick in the head and deserve more than a life sentence. Get rid of them once and for all.

Howard Johnson restaurants were way before the hotel chain, by twenty years......You probably lived out east if you remember them as they were off all the original eastern turnpikes.

Only four remain. See the above link. So sad, in a route 66 way...

You would really get a kick out of the old restaurants that were
everywhere when we went on vacation in the 50's and 60's..
we are talking a major piece of americana...they absolutely
oozed with personality, and even the lettering was cool...
it was like a combination Diner/fast food restaurant.....it was really unique.......the links have lots of fun historical stuff about it

http://www.slamtrak.com/hojo2003/

They eventually built a motor lodge to compete with holiday inn,
and were really humming in the 50's and 60's....

now, just the hotel chain is left, and it has nothing of the nostagic,
slightly tacker diner feel or look to it anymore
