Cell-phone photos taken shortly before a Harlem man was shot dead by a cop show the victim posing with the very gun he allegedly leveled at the police officer.
Mingo Kenneth Mason, 18, was fatally shot outside the East River Houses Saturday morning after pointing the loaded .25-caliber handgun at a cop, police officials said yesterday.
Photos obtained by the Daily News last night show Mason posing with the gun. The photos were taken with a cell- phone camera and e-mailed to Mason's friends, before being obtained by The News.
Cops responded to a 911 tipster who saw Mason showing off a handgun to three pals outside 420 E. 105th St. shortly before 12:50 a.m., police said. He was 5 to 10 feet from the second group of officers when he pointed the weapon at a 13-year veteran and refused an order to drop the gun, Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Browne said yesterday.

Hey, do you think it might be like this:
Undertrained, overcaffienated cop screams all perps into submission. Should that not work, act as you desire and invoke the code of silence.
How about this:
Brainless person with a gun has nothing left to live for so doesn't care when faced with this kind of situation. Pulls gun to play chicken. Loses. Yes, there are stupid and desperate people. Regardless of what hue your skeleton's wrapped.
And last but not least:
This is one of many situations. Yet you are made to believe that you must make a blanket judgment. Do this enough and over time it leads you to quick-judge EVERYTHING without considering all the information. Hmmmmmm, sounds deathly familiar.

A variety of reasons :
- Trying to make a decision
- Suicide by cop
- Some people can't think quick under pressure
The problem is , seconds count , and unfortunately , there's no time to wait after the command is given to drop the weapon .

Well as "they" say, stupid pretty much sums it up now don't it?
Ya know, kinda reminds me of a group of ppl I can think of who share that same mentality, figuratively speaking. You can have 'em seriously out-gunned and tell them to "drop it", figuratively speaking, and something "clicks" in their head and they just feel the need to test you!
In this case, however, the cop did the right thing. For all of us.

Similar Situation just happened in DC. Guy was beating the hell out of his female significant other, she was on the ground. The police told him to raise his hands, and he reached behind him into his waist belt. Guess what they shot the dum a**...
Now his family and community are screaming that it was unnecessary force....HOW STUPID DO YOU HAVE TO BE?

because their stupid and having a gun makes them feel tough i know a feel people who have guns which i think are a bunch of punks cause they can't handle stuff with their hands they have to get a weapon

TYPICAL - just look at his picture - does this suprise you? Black male in NY dressed in gangster clothes - of course he should of been shot and glad they did - people like this should be eliminated.

why? take a weapon, commite a crime and then face a police or a soldier, just then you will understand theres no way back....thinking you will be punished and bitten.....could you resist such a mental torture, nop. you will not.....
