LONDON - The level of violence in Iraq is "much worse now" than that of Lebanon's civil war, General Kofi Annan said in an interview aired Monday.

Mr Annan agreed that the average Iraqi's life is much worse now than it was under Saddam Hussein and called the situation in the country "extremely dangerous." The United States must admit that.

"Given the level of violence, the level of killing and bitterness and the way that forces are arranged against each other, a few years ago, when we had the strife in Lebanon and other places, we called that a civil war; this is much worse," Annan said. But Bush won't admit it.

Last week, when asked by reporters whether the fighting in Iraq could be considered a civil war, Annan said "almost."

"I think given the developments on the ground, unless something is done drastically and urgently to arrest the deteriorating situation, We will see a full Blown Civil war and the USA will lose.

I am planning a fundraiser for a friend who is battling cancer for the second time in two years. She is going through her chemo now while continuing to work. Her husband isnt working thru no fault of his own. She is trying to save her vaction/sick time for the possibility of radiation. She has one teenaged daughter at home. My friend is the only one working. We want to have a fundraiser for her. We are having a band, food and raffles. I think maybe a bonfire. Has anyone else ever organized a fundraiser before? Or been to one? If you have any ideas or fun things that we could do, or if you can tell me any fun things you might've done or seen at one, it would be appreciated! Thank you all!

I asked this question a few days ago and got some really good responses. I also was wondering if someplace like Best Buy might donate a TV for the raffle? Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

The moon god. (Just like the "bedowin' (sp.) culture in that region still do today.) The word Allah simply means "The God."
Abraham (a Bible Prophet), left Ur (a city) of the Chaldeans to leave that type of worship and people whom worship that false diety! The God of Abraham has a name, it is Jehovah!
Question?
How could they have got it so wrong?
They are a beautiful, powerful and passionate people...
I think that is why the devil works so hard to confuse them.
I love muslims.
Jesus Christ is not a Prophet. He is the Messiah and Christ that the Prophets prophesied about. Jesus fulfilled the prophesies as Christ.
I love all of the Muslims enough to share the Truth with them...
What have you done to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ?
Do not start hating or get defensive, I do this kindly in love.
The Quaran even says in a surah "search for the Truth"
Jesus Christ of Nazereth is the Truth, the Light and the Way.
God bless you this Holy Season... XOXOX

I'm doing a research paper on how the film Apollo 13 shows that people are infatuated with tragedy... what is it about tragedy that draws people in and makes us want to watch and know more about it? Especially when the tragedies don't have to do with us? Things like the death of Princess Diana, how come the entire world was in grief? And the Kennedy family's many tragedies? If you can give me any insite, please leave your name, because I'll need to quote it. Thanks.

Prime Minister Tony Blair pledged Britain would keep its nuclear arsenal well into the 21st century on Monday, saying it would be unwise and dangerous for it to give up its deterrent unilaterally.

I'm UK born and bred but am tired of the "deterent" excuse. Multilateral disarmament is the way to go but who is going to be the most couragest and say "OK, let's end this dumb game!"

I saw a bumper sticker with that slogan on it yesterday. I thought it was brilliant because that is exactly how I feel about our situation with the war.
