There are so many diferent problems that have to be addressed under that one title, so no one invention or quick-fix solution will suffice. Think how many factions must endorse your answer for it to be attainable. Are there bi-products. Are these going to be acceptable. Whatever you plan must be financialy viable. The current owners of world energy supplies are not going to want to relinquish power so how can they retain it by endorsing your plan?

Bloggers in countries such as Iran, Tunisia, Vietnam and China, who write about the political situations in their countries are being betrayed to the police by their ISPs - including Yahoo - and are ending up in prison, all for the crime of saying what they think.

About 25 years ago, I think, this weird muslim cleric was interviewed by the now-aging journalist, Mike Wallace. And, Wallace asked the intepreter to translate a very "pointed" (and poignant) question, for Khomeini to answer.
The interpreter was said to have looked very, very fearful and hesitant to ask Khomeini that question (as though he feared for his life).
Mike [Wallace] encouraged him to do it, anyway.
So, the Iranian DID translate the question for that mad-dog idiot Khomeini...and, shortly after the interview was over, the Ayatollah had the interpreter killed, for asking the question: even though the question was not his [the interpreter's], but Wallace's.
Did any of you also see the "murder" in the face of Khomeini, at that time?
(My initial impression of Khomeini was that of a "murderous dog". It turned out to be correct)
NOTE: Any muslim that tells you that dissidents or just plain intellectuals are not murdered by their *ucked up leaders is a complete jackass & liar.

Everyone on here seems to think that its wonderful that Madonna's African baby will "want for nothing" with her.

I assume that means designer clothes, public schools, ponies etc.

This kid HAS a family in Africa. Surely Madonna could afford to sponsor them so that they can give him a good life and allow him to stay in his own country and culutre with his own family.

Yeah he won't get designer trainers and playstations and stuff but who the HELL needs all that stupid pointless crap anyway?

Madonna's money could provide safe clean water, healthcare and education for
his village. This is what all children need - love, food, healthcare, safe place to live, clean water, education. She could give him all this (for the price of a new Louis Vitton handbag) and allow him to stay with his own family.

All the greedy designer crap her money can buy means nothing. It never made anyone happy.

Why are people so shallow that they assume money makes you a better parent?
