You need to not so upset by someone as unimportant as Bill O'Reilly. Be afraid of the people who are like him, who don't write books, who don't demagogue on the TV, and who plan on running for an election. At least we can keep people like him on TV and not in Congress.

O'reilly is the symtom - not the cause. Polarization is not something new. Conflicts over social issues have always been around. O'reilly doesn't create it, he's just one of many to find a way to capitalize on it. You could make the same accusation against anyone who has written books "selling" their side of the issue - Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, Al Franken, etc., etc. etc.

There is a big market of so-called 'conservatives' in the country, who just want to hear kind of things Bill O'Reilly speaks. It is a great strategy by FOX to increase their ratings. To FOX it doesn't matter whether Bill O Relly says wrong - till the time he is getting viewers. Success of fox news is based on the overall US is politically polarized.
Bottomline is Bill OReilly sucks big time.

He's such a right-wing fanatic, I wouldn't say his objective is to polarize. His objectives are to make millions of dollars and to get viewers to support the Republican conservative party. Out of the two, however, the money is the most important.
