All news anchors have to do is sit still, read their copy and look good around the head and shoulders. They don't even have to wear pants. This is why everyone wants to be an anchor. It seems like an easy, pantless job. Anchors are always tacking extra titles onto their job descriptions like managing editor, but really it's just reading into a camera. Unfortunately, reading, in fact doing anything at all, turns out to be a tall order when you're doing it from behind the anchor desk.
