I thought that is why we went to the middel east, yet! They mass weapons were never found...hmmmm interesting. Yet now almost 3000 troops are killed so far...why are we in a middle of a war in the middle east? I thought we were searching for bin laden...I think he brain-washed people that they were the terriost and we really need to be over there! Any thoughts?

I'm just getting started into my freelance journalism career. I've gotten advice to take a class at college or community outreach program, read articles in Writer's Market, and contact my local newpaper. I've contacted my local newspaper, that's why I posted my stringer question, and read Writer's Market. For most markets, they said to start with fillers or department columns, esp. for magazines. But as for classes, I don't have the money right now, unless it's free. Any advice for professional freelance journalists out there?

Muslim groups criticized President Bush on Thursday for calling a foiled plot to blow up airplanes part of a "war with Islamic fascists," saying the term could inflame anti-Muslim tensions.
"We urge him (Bush) and we urge other public officials to restrain themselves."
Where is the call for the "terrorists" to restrain themselves?
and how is it that calling them "Islamic fascists" more likely to "inflame anti-Muslim tensions" than the actual terrorist attacks?

Non-muslims aren't giving muslims a bad name, muslims are giving muslims a bad name! Islamists, this is NOT anyone elses war, its yours! Quit demanding your innocence, and start demanding tolorance! Every human on this earth has the right to their own personal beliefs. It is our job to understand others and deal with it, regardless of what we believe. With all the terrorist plots going on in the world right now, like the one in the UK, would it not be better to come up with some forms of punishment that might make these people think twice about joining a group? They (and many of their families) see it as an honour to die for the cause. Fine. Go ahead, but if you do so, your ENTIRE family will be deported to your ancestral place of origin. For instance, the British-Pakistani's caught in the latest plot: send their entire families to Pakistan. No exceptions. Unfair you may say, but this is survival. They care about no one except their own family, so hit them where it hurts. I will probably get many irate replies to this one, but it is just thinking.

up to 300 innocent horses are killed every day at slaughter houses in the USA

they just hang the horses upside down and slit their throats!
