There seems to be quite a lot of talk in Muslim communities that exist in non Muslim states (like Europe and the US) about how peaceful Islam is, and that they do not support terrorism, but we see very little (none so far) in the way of the Muslim community searching out and identifying the radicals to the authorities in those countries, what we do seem to be seeing is those communities harboring or turning a blind eye to the radicals in their midst.
Another thing we seem to be seeing (especially when arrests are made) is complaints about how the Muslim community is being victimized (wrong arrests will be made, it is unavoidable) disinformation will be given to the authorities to discredit them, but if these Muslims are really peace loving they should be supporting the police (and trying to understand when they make mistakes). After all you don't here complaints in other communities when a murder is arrested, and if a person is arrest by mistake in these communities there is a legal system for seeking compensation (admittedly it is slow and sometimes flawed, but that affects us all)
Also we are now hearing a lot of talk about how western foreign policy is now radicalizing the Islamic youths in the western countries they live in!!! The point here seems to be that they are putting loyalty to their religion and their brethren in the religion above any loyalty to the countries they live in. If you don't like the foreign policy of the country you live in, because it is trying to stamp out terrorist and radically violent regimes in other countries then you are obviously living in the wrong country.
It is time that people from other cultures, living in western communities, started living the culture of the country they are in, rather trying to hang on to (or even force changes (insisting the state provides culturally specific education etc.)) their own culture. If what you want is a purely Islamic culture, where the people around you follow Sharia law, and to treat you like Muslims. Well big news people, over here we treat people like people, if you give us respect we give it to you back, you don't get special treatment because of what you worship, it is our culture that exits in the west you should be respecting that, and trying to fit in, if you can't then find an Islamic country where you can.
And before I hear any complaints about racism (or should I say culturism) I'm married of an Asian woman whose religion is different to my own, when she is here in this country she behaves like a westerner to the best of her ability and fits in very well, and when I travel abroad I tailor my behavior to the country I am in so that I don't stand out or offend anyone. Do the same while you are here and you will earn my respect and friendship, do otherwise you will be despised and even hated.
Sorry for the long rant but I have heard a belly-full of crap from the so called peaceful Muslims recently, who seem very keen on standing politically in the way of the authorities, but doing nothing to encourage their communities to make the radicals lives difficult and force them from cover.

I agree with you! I watched the News this evening, and I must admit to getting angry with what I saw. Reporters are crawling all over the areas where these people have been arrested, trying to speak to other Muslims, asking how they feel about what has happened. NOT ONE of them said, "if they are guilty they should pay for their mistakes", no,the only thing they kept harping on about was the way Police went in and arrested them! Now, pardon me,but if anyone else other than a Muslim, breaks the law,the Police treat them the same,so WHY should Muslims be treated differently?? WHY do they feel they should be told in advance about such Police actions? They live in this country,so why shouldn't they be treated the same as every other citizen! What makes them so special? Who on earth do they think they are?You are absolutely right in what you say. If they want to be respected, its about time they admitted that there ARE those among them who are NOT so innocent. Maybe its time WE started demanding a few things!!!

Simply stated, I am quickly forming the opinion that, dispite what seems to be the conventional wisdom, Islam is NOT a peaceful and tolerant religion! The rage and condemnation you speak of regarding radical and terrorist actions around the world just doesn't seem evident in the Muslim communities. There almost seems to be a passive acceptance or outright indifference for these actions. Sad, isn't it?

"Every human on this earth has the right to their own personal beliefs". Ahh....I don't know what dream world you're living in but it sure ain't Earth -2006.
In Saudia Arabia women can't vote, drive a car or even leave the house without their husband or father's permission. In many places in the Middle East a woman will be murdered in the street if her head is not covered. There is no free press or independent media there. If you speak out against Islamic terrorists, the terrorists will come to our house and murder you and you're entire family.
Don't assume standing up for the right thing is so easy.

I agree with you completely. I am from India where we have equal number of muslim population to other religions. As the other dude asked that what is to be done, i feel that you need not march up to the Al-Qaeda and ask them to stop. You wont be cared first of all. The thing to be done is to spread awareness. There are about a million fresh recruits every year into these so called terrorist groups. Where do these people come from? They just do not materialise out of thin air. Actually young trainees who are recruited come from financially poor background who tend to do anything for their family to get an square meal everyday. Or else the fanatics of the terrorist outfits, seed them enemity and blame the west, or their particular target state as the reason for the state they are in. First the countries declare the entire state as an rogue nation and then ultimately cut their entire source of support, hence creating an situation in which these terrorist outfits hire or help those people to gain trust and support and ultimately succeeding in the recruitment process.
Osama Bin Laden was not a born terrorist. No terrorist is born. they are made out of circumstances. Anyway now its too late for the blame game. its time to spread the awareness among muslim nations and the common people to stop sending their children to such workshops. it time to plead other nations to help them out so that they may not feel the necessity to go to those outfits for help. International politics also a major catalyst in aggrevating the situation furthermore. For example, If US supports India, Russia supports Pakistan..( may or may not be true.just quoted as an example from my point of view.). Something less than an miracle wont suffice the need of the hour, that is to erradicate TERRORISM. Am sorry for the little speech. got used to it during my training. thanks for all the people who actually read for what i have said.

One problem here is that i read that the lebonese should just let Isreal alone then it will be ok. You only lnow one side of the story. Go back about 24 years ago and read the true history of Lebanon and Isreal and then you have to read the real news on a daily basis on what goes on in the south of Lebanon. Isreal has never really gottton out of Lebanon, and there are more then 100 lebanese prisioners in the Isreal jails for no crimes commited. Just peopel they have taken. It was not just the taking of these 2 soldiers, Isreal was just waiting for a reason to back in , when it first started the Hezbollah wanted to trade prisioners!!! Isreal started with bombing right away. Did not even entertain the the idea of trading prisioners for prisioners. Isreal wanted war, they wanted to hurt Lebanon, they were also hoping for a civil war in Lebanon. But till now the Lebonese are standing united christians, muslims, druz and many more religions in Lebanon. Go back and read there is more then what FOX news has to say!!!!

Read below what the Quran says about good Muslims and bad Muslims. Read below WHY Islam is called a religion of peace (taqiyah). You can know the answer for your question if you read the source.
Islam is a totalitarian religion that demands world dominance and destruction of kafir (non-Muslim)countries. The Islamic doctrine of Al Taqiyah (dissimulation) hides this fact. That is why scholars say that Islam is a religion of peace and jihad just means to struggle.
Muslims have a SACRED DUTY to purge fitnah from the world. Sayyid Qutb, an Islamic scholar, writes that the world would be a utopia under Islamic theocracy. Islam is a political as well as a religious system.
Qur'Än Surah Al-Anfãl 8:39
So fight them (unbelievers) until there is no more fitnah (disbelief or worship of any god but Allah) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world) ... And fight with them until there is no more fitnah and religion should be ONLY for Allah
Allah commands deeds of terror by the believers against the unbelievers as the means of creating the emotion of terror in their hearts. The only reason needed for action is that "they resisted Allah and His Messenger". Such an approach to "conflict management" is nothing to be ashamed about according to Islamic understanding, but it is a basis for pride. According to Islam, it is one reason for the superiority of Muhammad over all other prophets.
It is EVERY Muslim's SACRED DUTY to fight in the jihad/qitl fee sybil Allah. (struggle/killing in the cause of Allah)
Qur'Än Surah al-Hujurat 49:15
Mumim (true Muslims) believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), and without doubt they strive in the cause of Allah (jihad fee Sybil Allah) with their WEALTH and their lives. Those! They are the sincere.
Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward, (Yusuf Ali trans.)

Yes, the question though is why aren't they???????????????
If Islam is so great why do Muslims not speak out?
Does this suggest Muslims all might be terrorists?
Is death, destruction, and violence Islam's answer to anyone who disagrees or does not know?
Does logic, intelligence, or wisdom not have a voice in Islam?
Islam professes to be a sweet, gentle religion for human souls. Why is there so much silence in the global Muslim family?
I await answers myself.

I think you mean Al-Qaeda with naming them as bad Muslims.
But to tell you the truth, we don't even consider them as Muslims. I don't know whether you know or not, but they constantly kill Muslims by exploding bombs in Iraq and Pakistan. They are Wallabies and don't tolerate any other Muslim different with their false believes.
Their root returns to 200 years ago in Saudi Arabia with support of the UK. They killed thousands of Muslims at that time when they didn't accept their believes. Their religion is made by themselves, they changed the Islam thoroughly.

It must be so hard for the majority of this religion to watch the fanaticals tarnish their religion. i hope that we all recognize that the fanatics are such a small percentage and that the majority of people, in any religion, are caring, nice people.
Maybe it will be this type of communication to bring all the good people together to oust the few bad ones that seem to be taking up all the time on the news. Yay good people!!!
