Please think about this seriously: Is it legal or fair to hire an African-American or Hispanic who is not qualified for a position simply because that candidate is black or brown? Aren't some minorities these days financially more successful than many Caucasians? Can our employers assume that all African-Americans or Hispanics come from poverty?? What should one do, who is highly qualified for a position, if he or she knows that quotas are the goal of the organization?

I think I've asked something about this before on here...but I really need some help.

My better half was offered a position in Mt. Pleasant, TX & so he relocated and is now talking about purchasing a home for us. The problem is that I'm stuck-I've tried to find a job there & so far no luck. I haven't been able to make a trip yet so I'm not sure what's exactly in or around the area.

I'm a graphic designer...which there are probably not many opportunities for. Does anybody know of any places of business that are creative based in the area? Names of local owners that I could contact?

I've heard the area is pretty small...so they probably don't advertise positions online. (Maybe that's why I can't seem to find anything). Any ideas??

I just keep thinking this shouldn't be this hard... I'm a hard worker, dedicated, love to keep learning new skills, great w/ customer service, have a steady work history, & received my BFA in graphic design 2 years ago.

I need some connections.

I used Yahoo, but the website http://www.kaoba.com sends me to a place in the Dominican Republic. That's a bit far for a Latino dance club.

My boyfriend heard it advertised on Recuerdos 94.1, but did not catch the phone number. Indio(?) is supposed to be there this week.

But we have been looking for a Latino dance club, any recommendations?

at my doctors office the receptionist,office manager and 2 of the medical assistants are just plain rude.
but the worst part is what happened today-i had a question about my balance,which should have been billed to my insurance company ,and the receptionsit went off on me screaming at me,in front of other patients, it wasnt her problem(i spoke with the doctor,she does the billing,so yeah it kinda is her problem)i later talked to my insurance company-they had already sent the doctors office a check for the claim and it had been cashed 2 months prior!!
when i called to tell her what the insurance said she called me a liar and hung up!then i had the insurance company call and they were also hung up on.i did speak with the doctor this evening and he refused to apologize for his receptionist,saying that these things happen and its all the insurance companys fault!
should i try to find out how to get his practice investigated,by whom???????
i dont feel like i can trust these people!!!!

I've heard that some banks in the Dallas-Ft Worth area use a method of collecting as many overdraft and bounced check charges by posting outstanding checks before posting deposits even though they are all posted the same day. Does anyone know which banks in the area do NOT indulge in this practice?

If a worker works on public holidays, according to labor law the worker has to be paid double salary.What if a worker does not work on Public Holidays (eg:Independence Day,Labor Day), does he qualify for a normal salary, does the hours counted as working hours.

I'm currently employed as a graphic designer at my first official place of employment. I've been with the company for over a year but don't feel I'm growing or learning as much I could be somewhere else. But I know the field is competitive...and well, the benefits are great! I've been longing to move away from my hometown and experience more and maybe land a better job that hopefully I would feel more productive at.
Should I stay or take a chance and move on..possibly risking everything?? could use some help...thanks!

For those of you all who know a bit about Dallas nigth life, I'm not asking about Bady Dolls but Bady Doe's. Once a regarded as a good place to go out to eat and have fun in the N. side of Dallas. Now is just a boared up shack and a bit of a ugly thing to look at from i-35. Did it just go under? or did the taxes not paid? Or did it fail inspection from the health dept. I know it is still private property, and in that case who is the owner or owners. I'm looking for a good point of contact to talk about the place if you know something about it hit me up...
