I recently visited a Miller Brothers store (In Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK) because I wanted to buy a laptop. However, the sales assistant told me that the company had recently been taken over by another one and that I should check the website of this new company to find details of the latest products available. However i have completely forgotton the name of this new company and can't find it anywhere on the internet. Can anyone help??

Has anyone else in the UK received a silent call from this number?

Twice in the last week I have received a call in which nothing is said and the 'caller' hangs up after about 10 seconds. On dialling 1471, the caller's number is given as 01142237228 (which is a Sheffield code, I believe). I know noone in Sheffield. Today I pressed 3 to return the call and was greeted with a recorded message saying "You have received a Telephone Marketing Call'.

Does anyone know any more about this rather disturbing trend in Telephone Marketing and which firm is responsible?

Do you know any funny shop names in London?

The best I know is R. Soles in Kings road Chelsea. Have also seen a chinese take a way called FOOK YU. I wonder how they answer the phone? I heard of the Lee Kee boat company in Hong Kong as well

Why are shop signs getting less interesting?

I notice than when a shop changes it's sign the trend is for the new one to be dull compared to the old one. Also chain stores are destroying the high streets
