It's possibly for anyone to get a job but if you want a decent salary employers will want to know what skills you possess. i.e have you been to school and gained any qualifications? have you had any kind of training or work experience in a particular area? Personally i would go to the job centre, they offer a lot of help to job seekers.

It depends on:-
1. Where you are
2. What experience and qualfications you have
3. Not least, what restrictions you are going to place on your work, and perhaps more importantly what demands the prospective employer thinks you are going to make, because of your family commitments.
How about looking in your local supermarket to see if they have any vacancies? You could put a card in a local shop window to see if you can get come casual work like cleaning, but unfortunately the buraeucratic bits of being on benefits can interfere with this.
Incidentally, I think there is less prejudice against older women than against older men.
Keep your pride. A job is very important for obvious reasons, but there are things (like your children) which are even more important.

It all depends upon your skills, education, and expereince. If you have some education or specific work related expereince you should be able to get employment in a resonable job. If you have been out of work for a while....but do have some experence polish up your interview skills and review your experiene and education focus on your strengths. If you have none you may want to consider going back to school [e.g. community college as legal secreatary etc.]. Good luck

Of course they will... You could do an evening course for the meanwhile to maximise your skills and increase your chances of getting one. My mum did a computer course and returned to work when she was nearly 50- says it's the best thing she ever did!

It depends on your qualifications, experience, and how you get on at interview.
Being a single mother at 45 is a challenge when it comes to finding work, I understand, but it is not impossible.

Try Wal-Mart. My mother in law got hired there when she was 50. She is now a supervisor. She also has full benefits.
GOOD LUCK.

of course they will if you are able to do the job and the best person to interview for it.... If you are worried that your age or sex will detract from getting a job then you can discuss this with your local job office and they will tell you what warrants sexual or age discrimination and what to do about it
