Women's Health - October 2007

My friends daughter was born fine but started complaining of lower back pain and her peepee hurting. She checked her and found her vagina completely closed up. She was fine at birth and had no problems till recently. The vagina area is completely covered with skin like it was never there, yet again she said it was completely normal at birth. The area is not red or swollen just gone. She imediately took her to her doctor who gave her several reasons for this. He also told her she would proably have to have surgery to open it up so it could drain.

YES SHE TOOK HER TO THE DOCTOR, AND YES SHE IS GOING FOR A SECOND OPINION.

Has anyone ever herd of this happening to a 3 year old before? If so what happened and what was done? My friend is scared for her daughter of course the first thing she did was take her to the doctor.

i want to stop taking ortho- lo?
i have been taking them for 1 week now, and would like to stop after my period , or after i finish the pack.. i take it for cramps and i would like to know that when i go off the pills will it effect my period for next month or anything like that?? thankx . i want to stop them cuz of too many side effects

Ever since my grams got the depo she said her mouth was dry her throat was dry and every were else and i was like w/e... now she cant eat and shes bleeding even is she didnt get depo she wouldnt be due for another 2 weeks and im worrying that we might have to take her to the hospital any ideas on whats going on???

I am 31 and just had my well-woman exam last week, and the doctor felt some sort of lump on my left breast. My breasts were very dense and uncomfortable during the exam since my period was coming in few days. Since the exam, I've been having pain on that spot and if I touch it, it gets worse. The pain is on a 24-hour basis, with a varying strenght. I was advised to take Advil for a possible inflamation. Have anyone had the same experience? I am very nervous...

i have been on the pill for a few years now and usually pretty regular in my periods when i have them this time i have not had my period and been a few weeks now this is quite normal for me is it because i have been on the pill for a long time? or should i be concered ?

What type of pain is it?

I am tryin to figure out if what I am feeling is possibly pregnancy related.

my boobs hurt all day.. mostly at the top, like my chest area.. before the nipples.

also i have lower stomach cramps,back ache at times. lots of vaginal discharge which is thick/white.

i had my period on the 11th and it only lasted 2 days and was gone. I only had unprotected sex on the 10th (yes only a day before my expected period, that is why it was unprotected cause i honestly didn't kno one could be become pregnant so close to their period) this month.

any ideas? I feel so crampy/icky.

I use Meftal spas every month during period cramps. I generally use about 2-4 in every period cycle. Just was wondering if it has any side effects in the long run.

I have this problem where my knees swell up all the time off & on but during my period they swell up to the point where i cannot walk.My whole body achs all the time but it gets worse during my time of the month.Does anybody else experiance this & what is causing this & what can be done about it?I'm a 42 year female.

I have a few concerns that I hope some people can help put my mind at ease. I and my boyfriend are both virgins and I'm 21 and he is 26. We want to wait until we get married to have sex together for the first time. My concern is that will I be in pain for the whole honeymoon after we have sex. Also what should I do so that I won't be on my period during the honeymoon? Should I go see my doctor and see what she thinks? I don't won't to work myself up over something that probably isn't a big deal. We love each other very much and respect each other and want to wait but I'm just a little nervous about the what if's. lol!

Had sex and started my period a few days earlier than expected.Did not have any clots or anything, just some bleeding, cramping and lasted only 4 1/2 days. My period quit but I still have cramps off and on, my back hurts and my boobs are still sore. Plus I've been very gassy, hungry and I have to pee a lot. My fiance even noticed that I had a stronger smell and that my vagina seemed a lot warmer than normal. Is it possible I'm pregnant?

I am taking Portia birth control. I missed one dose and took it the next day. That was last week. I ended up getting my period on last Monday (I forgot the pill Sunday). I had it for about 2 days. Then it went away. I got it again on Thursday and Friday, then it went away. Well, I got it again today. I took a pregnancy test yesterday afternoon and it came back negative. Please help! Has anyone else gone through this? Could I be pregnant? I forgot to take my birth control before, but this has never happened. Thank you for reading!

My friend is 27, and has had one child 4 years ago. She is 5'4", 108 lbs, and a 34B. She is single and has not been sexually active for several months. She last had her period 2 weeks ago.

She has complained of tenderness or soreness of both breasts for about 6 weeks. In the last 2 weeks, there is also some swelling. A self exam didn't reveal any lumps. The tenderness is clear through both breasts, and there doesn't appear to be any single spot that is more sensitive than the whole.

So ruling out pregnancy because of the period and lack of sexual activity, what are some possible causes of tenderness and swelling for someone her age and size? Has anyone ever experienced something similar?

I just wanted to know if someone else out there is like me. I have breasts that are two different sizes. One is a B cup and the other is a D cup. They are not cancerous nor have any lumps. They are just two different sizes. Are there other women who have this issue to???

My normal cycles are every 28 days. Last time though it was 35 days with more CM than normally but didn't start until day 11. This month my period lasted only 4 days instead of 6 but was still a heavy period so i'm not pregnant. I chart my temps too and my temps are low like they are supposed to be right now. Only this time my CM came on day 7 and was all globby almost like the egg whites and now day 8 it's wet and almost stretchy. Why the heck is it coming so early this month? Is it trying to come early this time to make up for how long my cycle lasted last time?

A few days ago was my first period since my first, so really my second. IMy first one was okay, nothing too bad, but this one is TERRIBLE! It's extremely heavy and last night, when I was sleeping, somehow it got onto my bed! I was wearing a pad and everything, and the pad wasn't even full, it had some blood in it but the bed got the worst of it.
Please help me. I'm pretty sure I'm wearing the pad right, but I don't see how it could have gotten all over my bed.
PLEASE HELP!

SInce beginning this drug my first period lasted 5 weeks, Dr gave me drugs to stop it, took them for 10 days then it all began again, on to week three right now. I have had an ultrasound, waiting for the results, Have lots of clots can this drug cause this?
