A few days ago was my first period since my first, so really my second. IMy first one was okay, nothing too bad, but this one is TERRIBLE! It's extremely heavy and last night, when I was sleeping, somehow it got onto my bed! I was wearing a pad and everything, and the pad wasn't even full, it had some blood in it but the bed got the worst of it.
Please help me. I'm pretty sure I'm wearing the pad right, but I don't see how it could have gotten all over my bed.
PLEASE HELP!

Poor kid, it's a horrible nuisance isnt it? See if you can buy night pads, they are extra long, with wings that fold over the edges of your undies. You can use a tampon and a pad, if that helps stop the worry of leakage too.

Oh the wonderful things we go through as women...no need to worry though. This is completely normal. Like the person said above, get the pads with the wings. That should help. Also, I don't know how you are most comfortable sleeping, but try sleeping on your side. That should help. Have you considered using tampons yet? I know it can seem scary at first, but they are 100 times better than pads. When you sleep you can wear the tampon and a pad for extra protection.

It got on your bed because while you are sleeping you change positions and your pad moves around. It is normal it happens to most people. Make sure that you wear the long pads for overnight use when you go to bed. When you are young and just start having your period they are not all the same. Wash your bed with soap and water where it is dirty. After if dries (it will look worst after you wash it) you can tell how much of it came out. Just wash it again until it comes clean. You can also use peroxide on it. It takes out blood.

This is perfectly normal. My second period was about the same, right down to getting on the bed part. You may want to look into a bigger/longer/more absorbent type of pad, or wear tampons (personally I hate those things but that's just me) or both a pad and a tampon. And just come to accept that some of your periods are going to be heavier than others, and sometimes accidents will happen. I know it sucks but we all go through it. :) Hope it gets better soon!

I have noticed that every other period I have is worse than the last one. To prevent leaking, I would buy extra long overnight protection pads because they don't twist as much giving you more protection when your sleeping.

sometimes its the way you sleep. I tend to lay on my stomach which causes me to have that same problem. But night ones is the way to go cuz there long and you can sleep comfortably knowing your covered completely. but don't worry it happens I had mine since age 12 and i still have an accident every now and then.

it did the same to me when i first started! its because your laid down and you could of been on you side ... pads don't get any wider just longer and can absorb more. it is terrible because when it happens to me i get scared in case it happens at school but it won't. when you first start your first few are usually heavy but the very first is lighter don't worry they get lighter after a few xx

don't worry, sometimes your period is considerably heavier than the last time you've had it.
and it probably got a lot onto your bed because you were sleeping on your back and it leaked. i usually put a piece of thick bath towel (or fold it) under me when i sleep during my period. hope it helps. don't freak out.
