Some people donate and contribute in diffrent ways. Whether its a monatary donation or a walk for the cure, everybody can do a small part to help such a devastating illness. If you know someone that have breast cancer, kind words or calling frequently to check up on them to see how they are doing is doing a big part, of helping women or even men because they get breast cancer to, but mostly women to fight breast cancer. They need encouragment to know that somebodys in their corner helping and cheering them on, as they agree to fight this instead of giving up. Dealing with any illness is tiring. But with encouragment and caring, we can help these women beat this illness and get on with their lives.

It seems like all the support and research money goes to breast and cervical cancer research while testicular and prostate cancer are all but forgotten about. Hell, there are a couple thousand breast cancer foundations but I cant find 1 testicular or prostate organization. They now even have a supposed vaccine to prevent cervical cancer. Wheres the research or development for all us? All I want is some equality in the research time, money, and in treatment. I've even called places like American Cancer Society, civic groups, many other non profit organizations nobody wants to do anything to help with this or start an organization. So I wanted to hear all your feedback

Yeah, I know I need to go to the doctor, but until then, I would like your opinions. My hair is falling out. I bruise easily, sometimes I do nothing and still get bruised. Constant headache. I am tired and sleepy all the time, no matter how much I rest. I have no energy whatsoever. I sometimes run a fever for no apparent reason. Oh, and this morning, I woke up to having giant swollen lymph nodes under my chin. Does this sound like a certain type of cancer? Does this sound like anything else? Also, I have these tiny red dots under my skin on my arms and legs.

She also has had diabetes, type 1 ,for over 60 years.
She takes very little insulin as she is very sensitive. She is very thin and cannot eat much.
Her doctor has told her that chemo is her only option. She is 4th stage.
I am so concerned that the chemo will kill her.

She lives with a friend who smokes and is often in the ER for diabetes related problems. He will not be any help.
I live too far away to be there daily.

Does anyone have any helpful ideas or information ? Thanks in advance.

I've decided to do my infromative speech on Cancer. Now I'm having a hard time of focusing on what topics I should talk about. I get 6-8 minutes to speak and I need to have anywhere between 2-5 main points. I can't have an argument at all or try to be persuasive. Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

I'm probably way too young for one (and I'm scared about having one), but I'm wondering when should I start getting checked? Most people say that you should start getting check after 50 years old, but my dad got his when he's 50 and he got diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer that metastasized to his liver. According to the doctor, he probably had the cancer for a while and it probably started developing during his 40s or earlier. There's pretty much no hope for him now since now it had spread to his lungs somehow, and I learned that he had family members who died from colon cancer. Since I have a family history of this, when is the appropriate time to get screened? I'm currently 18 years old.

i read chicken soup for teenage souls and the stories are based on real incidents. many of the teens have lost parents who had cancer. i feel chemo is not a solution for cancer because u only suffer thru the whole process, lose hair and keep throwing up. And it is terrible to see the patient suffer. and it is not that the cancer gets eradicted. my frnd's sister died of leukemia 2 years ago. She had a bone marrow transplant . The cancer went away but after 2 months it returned and she was in worse shape. She died a painful death. and it was heart breaking to see my frnd during those tough times. So i'd like to know if there are other ways to cure malignant tumours.

I am 26 years of age and I have a knot in my right breast. I have already had my breast examined by a doctor and now I am going to be having a mammagram taken of my breast in the next 2 weeks. My mother told me that having a breast mammagram can give a woman cancer when they are exposed to the radiation. I am terrified now of having this mammagram. Can anyone tell me is this true? Can a person really get cancer once they have a mammagram taken of their breast through the radiation?

Some years back a woman scientist had gotten into trouble with drug company she was working for when she reported about particular content in underarm deodorant which she said cause cancer in women. Again now I read a report from Great Britain which says doctors have found aluminum salts from deodorants in breast cancer tissues which have been biopsied. But if these studies have been going on for many years now, and they have these proofs, why not do something?

My mom had breast cancer and beat it almost 6years ago and now she's just recently found another lump but here's the problem. We don't have any money and she does not have healthcare and does not qualify for state health care. We cant afford to pay for the medical bills. Is there anyone out there that can help us? I mean, i know that the American Cancer Society gives Free Memograms but do they do that in Missouri? If you have any suggestions on where we can get help, please let us know. This really is a life and death situation..

My friend was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001. Although they did everything as aggressively as possible it got in her bones and liver. Then the chemo caused curoruhus sp?of the liver. Yesterday I found out she's in the last stages of liver failure. When it gets to that point, how long is the normal length of time pple live with liver failure? She is one of my best friends and I want to make sure we have time to get her affairs in order before she passes.

My grandma died about 14 years ago from breast cancer, she was about 65, my mom died last summer at the age of 52 after having breast cancer for nine years. I had my first mammogram last year at the age of 34 and was sent in for another one, they said that I had dense breast tissue. I was wondering is there a percentage that I may or may not develop breast cancer. Oh, I forgot to add that my mom and my grandma's cancer was estrogen based. Should I get the genetic test? What are your opinions on this? Thank you
