a new mole?

i was just in the bath and i found a small mole on my ribs below my breast.. should i be worried? it wasnt there the other day

One of the symptoms of MELANOMA is finding a new mole on the skin surface any where. It is called Melanoma, which is due to exposure of the part of the skin to sun. But check up the portion in which you have found the mole is exposed to sun.

Melanoma is the most serious and deadly type of skin cancer. Melanoma develops in the cells that produce melanin — the pigment that gives your skin its color. Melanoma can also form in the eyes and, rarely, in internal organs, such as the intestines.

Melanomas can develop anywhere on your body, but most often develop in areas that have had exposure to the sun, such as your back, legs, arms and face. Melanoma can occur in areas that don't receive much sun exposure, such as the soles of your feet, palms of your hands and on fingernail beds.

The first sign of melanoma is often a change in an existing mole or the development of a new, unusual-looking growth on the skin. But melanoma can also occur on otherwise normal appearing skin.

I suggest you to go to an Oncologist to get the same evaluated and treat as the case may be. In my opinion it may not be cancer also. But do not neglect and get it checked up. Best of luck-

Mole don't pop up in a day!! If you are young and not sun sensitive, I will probably not worry.

moles can be a sign of skin cancer. Definitely go to a doctor and get it checked out!!!!!!

You should get it checked out by a doctor to see if it's something to worry about. Doctors can diagnose, yahoo answers cannot :).

imo, quite a few doctors aren't so good at diagnosis either.
